So far, the recommended programs have been too complicated for my simple brain. I found one promising program that I was trying, but before I could figure it completely out, my trial was over (7 free trials). Now, there's a file somewhere (registry?) that keeps me from trying it again. Any computer whizes here can help me figure out it is, that the install program searches for and finds, to prevent another round of 7 freebies?

I so used to be the computer stud, back when DOS 3.0 was out, and programming was:

10 Print "Jabbas World Rocks"
20 goto 10

run

But a stud I am no longer (repost stud exception)...any help greatly appreciated. The program I was trying I Dload from:

http://www.dvdtodivx.net/

I know there's better programs, but really, I just want to rip a few DVDs to put up here....either that...if if someone can tell me step-by-step...WTF to do, after I rip something with DVD Decrytor...that's as far as I can get with the other programs people have been telling me to use...

Ahh good old basic.. and an infinite loop no less... How useless.. lol

When you burn the dvd it has to be to the size of the dvd your burning too.. Are you burning to dual layer or single layer.. From a 4.5 gb disk or a 7 gb?

Dvd decrypter or even nero will burn the sucker the right size to right size.. otherwise youll need something to shrink the size..

Good luck..

My bad...I just want to rip it into an AVI or MPEG or something so I can Uload it here to JW....

I suppose, I could send the rip to let them do it...but I figured I should try to make it as easy for them as possible...they've got enough work to do...

doesnt dvd decrypter rip vids? I never tried to rip videos because I think its much simpler to download the whole dvd than rip it yourself.

it breaks the encryption, and will rip the data to your HDD if you want...

for xvid (much like divx 3.x etc.)
http://www.doom9.org/autogk.htm

for divx 3.x
http://www.doom9.org/gknot-main2.htm

and definately go to the you simply cannot get any more step-by-step then those tutorials

autogk is best coz its so easy!

but if you just want the dvd video onto a single layered disc, then use dvd-shrink

autogk works well and is easy to use (and is free ... ) but you can also try Dr. Divx, very easy too. The problem being that it's not free :?
