Everyone here like BIG power - exclusivity - and Performance around here from what I see. Thats pretty much a given.

But - Big Industry needs to head elsewhere. Or so it seems.

So where is it headed? Smaller economy cars? Mass transit systems?

What's the solution?

Interesting topic, but if I would get started on that I would be typing for a couple hours. I would say, wait a couple months and read my paper :D

But a few keywords pop-up: platform sharing, building alliances with competitors, and the segmentation of the production process (keep marketing, R&D, production, assembly,... seperate), new green fields are booming (eastern europe, china, ...), ...

I think the major car companies are becoming more aware of the exact needs of the consumer. The quality of the cars especially coming from the US market will increase over the upcoming years to compete with the rest of the world. The cars will become more sophisticated, well thought out, and aimed at the exact individual.
