I love flying R/C airplanes And would love to have a conversation with other people who are in the same hobby. :D
I'm interested in 3D, scale, and just about anything in between. Currently my three planes of choice are an Ultra Stick, an 81" Great Planes Cub, and a foamy that was scratch built from plans.

they seem like fun, but they arent easy to control or are they??
They can be a pain. My roomate got one a couple months ago and all 3 times he took it out, he crashed it

they seem like fun, but they arent easy to control or are they??If you learn to fly by yourself you'll crash a hundred times before you get the hang of it and it will cost you thousands of dollors. But if you want to really learn how to fly what you have to do is contact a local R/C flying club and ask if they have a training program which most of them have. What they will do is take you up on what's called a buddy box system. The buddy box system is a system where there are two controllers connected together by a cable. The instructor has the actual transmitter and the student pilot has the buddy box. The transmitter that the instructor is using has a switch on it that can transfer control from one controller to the other. That way the instructer can get the plane out of trouble. This is how I learned how to fly and I learned to be compitent with the plane within about 4 hours of actual flying time. I also have a simulater to help me along which can hook into your computer and it actually connects to your own transmitter through the USB port. the simulators are a big help especially when learning the more advanced maneuvers. Believe me, it has saved me litteraly thousands and thousands of dollors.
I hope this information might help you. :D
