View Full Version : Does anyone here like Wrestling
Does anyone here like wresting because my friend likes it and he is wondering if anyone on this forum does
If you do like wwe wresting he would like to meet you on msn messenger and talk.
Now he wants his addy taken off this now. So all this was a dud :?
Uhm - this sounds like a gay porno meeting being solicited...
Are either of you under-cover cops trying to entrap some unsuspecting wresting fan into "meeting in a shopping mall parking lot"?

 Well i didnt want to make a topic but my mate insisted , you can delete this topic if you want. I am the opposite of him i think wrestling is pointless

But I stop watching then I stop carrying about the plot/story. Oh wells.

Wrestling use to be good with the rock and stone cold. Now its just abit reatarded. Ok.. I guess the olympics are gay.. As are NCAA nation wrestling championships... The stuff above is real, and its probably the hardest sport you can physically compete in. Easily the hardest 7 mins in sports. Not to mention back then it got me plenty of women when I walked off the mat. If being gay means having 10 female groupies count me in.

Well considering we've discussed my daughter, I think your closet idea falls apart quickly lol..
But Id argue that if wrestling is gay, so is rugby and most other contact sports. Having done all of the above Id say that a tackle resembles hugging as much as ripping someones face off with a cross face and slamming them onto their back.
you aren't getting paid, and you spend more time hugging the other guy and laying on top of him then the dudes on tv do.
See paragraph 2 for discussion of payment:
as for the chicks, it doesn't matter dude. in any sport, girls will always flock the winner as thats who they want to be associated with!!

My high school didnt have football and I wasnt going to get onto gts top 10 in the country football team with a bad back (I tried to walk on and they called me a liability). Too late, we use to do that at parties for fun.. Part of that is explained by my first head coach in college being in UFC. At least one of my former teammates now compete in UFC. So I guess Im disqualified for the first day giveaway.. Damn!
*Not that Im good at boxing, but from my fooling around goofing off experience its definitly not as intense for such a short period as wrestling. At least in boxing you can move away from your opponent for a little bit to catch your breath, albeit by dancing. You can't do that in wrestling. They are two seperate skill sets, but Im still firmly convinced theres not sport that is more intense per minute.

Thats the case with almost all fighters. We get k1 here as well (and many of the same issues as in the ufc are present, especially rule wise), and while its better then UFC I have to disagree strongly with your boxing comment. Why? Quite frankly the boxers are missing the same thing most of the pure one martial arts guys are. Any fight ultimately will reach a stage in close. A boxer wouldnt know what to do grappling. George forman or such is great from a swing stand point but if you knocked him down using a kick you could easily make it so he couldnt punch you.. Lets put it this way.. Id put up 100 dollars that someone even 100 lbs heavier then me couldnt hit me if they let me get a grip to begin with and they didnt have training in grappling. Its not hard to believe that someone with abilities well beyond mind from standing could easily get to the grip point I could never hope to make against someone at this level. You can't punch someone if your arms are pinned behind your back.
Who is your ex teammate? my roomate and coworker watches UFC religously.

I hear you loud and clear.
I am saying that UFC guys are utter shit. Hence they are not good at anything they do.
I do not beleive for a second that you or anyone more then 100lb will be able to get in a close enough range with a 6 foot 5 heavy to put him down on the floor.
So really its a 50/50 toss if you have a good grappler and a boxer going at it. THe grappler has to get close enough to the boxer first. I fear that if he gets close he will get picked apart by jabs alone.
Again you have to keep in mind the power these guys have. Quite a few of them will simply be strong enough to push you away. if you get their hands tied.
Again if you can get this 6 foot 7 250 pound guy on the floor and keep him on the floor then I give you credit
http://www.klitschko.com/duels/duel_w_040410/r_pix_duel/wlad_14.jpg
Mind you this d00de in particular knocked guys out with jabs.
Edit- Anyway I am only talking about UFC Vs. American Boxing specificaly. I doubt a boxer would survive with a top calibre K1 fighter.
UFC guys are simply shit, and due to the rules they are not trained to expect what they would in a more fee and up for grabs battle.

Your forgetting even k1 and boxing have weight classes.
I do not beleive for a second that you or anyone more then 100lb will be able to get in a close enough range with a 6 foot 5 heavy to put him down on the floor.
I particularly discluded me cause I have no real kicking or punching ability, but you have to remember legs are longer then feet. And you also have to remember that the boxers arent the only ones that are strong(that and both of these departments have weight classes). Ive actually (out of shape a year after retiring from a broken arm and joint problems) volunteered to wrestle with a 280 lb 6 7 guy who was a former boxer and current college football player.. I pinned the guy to his back and held him there with his hands underneath him in less then a minute.. now granted no punches were involved, but he wasnt able to push me away. Part of that is because pushing often isnt the best choice of action in grappling, as that can be taken advantage of as well. Its all about balance and hip movements.
Now if I knew martial arts and managed to kick him just enough to get him off balance Id have my grip. I don't.. but then again Im not going to be doing ufc or k1 or fighting of any type and Im already 3 years out of wrestling. Chances are other then coaching young kids I'll never compete again.
For reference, in my hay day I wasnt a small guy.. 180 lbs 6'. Ive digressed a bit as age has begun to creep up and I went from 3 hr a day workouts to 2 days a week at best. At one point wrestling was my life outside of school.
UFC guys are simply shit, and due to the rules they are not trained to expect what they would in a more fee and up for grabs battle

/\/\/\ I see what you are saying and to be straight with you, I dont not believe in guys from different disciplines fighting. It is like getting two people who speak a different language to communicate. Sure they will make something out of it, but it wont be much.
A lot like you just never know what a boxer doing his game plan and a wrestler working his plan will yield. You just dont know.
What I am saying though that I am amazed at the level of shit I see in UFC. I honestly feel like if I at this very moment, dropped everything I am doing and hit the gym for 2 months I would be able to hang with a good chunk of the guys in UFC, and all I do is casual boxing, kick boxing or whatever the guys at my friends gym are up to.
I am not talkiong about champs here, just your average Spike TV UFC fight...Oh and honestly you know that TUF show? Man I feel like I could actually make it quite far in that show, cause the fighters there are simply put are jokes.
BTW Looks like you are in the same class as me, I'm 6 foot 1 about 180 (swimmer built), but I loose and gain weight on demand so that changes dramaticaly. For example I havent eaten much this week so I dropped quite a few lb.

Oh I agree.
What I mean to say that if you take a traditionaly trained boxer. A traditionary trained roman greco wrestler, both men lets say know their discipline very well, but thats all they know.
If thats the case I dont see a winner, I see it as a toss, its either the boxer if he lands his punch first, or the wreslter if he manages to get to the boxers legs.

There is a reason its referred to as Mixed Martial Arts. so a boxer vs. a K1 or a UFC fighter is a plausible fight. as long as the boxer can say on his feet and keep enough distance to get in his power and accuracy, he should fare well. But if you place him a against a grappler, then he's going to be in trouble.

Well I have 2 big things:
1)Genetic defect in my back kept me from walking onto gt football(see liability comment). Yes I need to crack my back just like you, but other then shoveling snow its not bothering me on a day to day basis if I crack it.
2) Im seeing the early onset of arthritis in my limbs. After I retired from wrestling(I broke my arm my sophmore year in college and when I attempted a return my jr year people just went after that arm.) I went on to play rugby and coach wrestling. During that time period I noticed that my knees would swell up like a baseball after practice and my hips started to pop when I took shots. Good sign its about time to hang it up.

i don't know about you, but if i don't crack my back first thing when i wake up in the am, i'm miserable the rest of the day
Well I have 2 big things:
1)Genetic defect in my back kept me from walking onto gt football(see liability comment). Yes I need to crack my back just like you, but other then shoveling snow its not bothering me on a day to day basis if I crack it.
2) Im seeing the early onset of arthritis in my limbs. After I retired from wrestling(I broke my arm my sophmore year in college and when I attempted a return my jr year people just went after that arm.) I went on to play rugby and coach wrestling. During that time period I noticed that my knees would swell up like a baseball after practice and my hips started to pop when I took shots. Good sign its about time to hang it up.
yeah, i hear you there :| fortunately i haven't gotten to that point yet, t i do have noises coming from places that should be quiet everynow and then.
