The whole site is laggy for me, the snow flakes hesitate and the keep on falling. Text lags (I had to type this in wordpad and the copy and paste it because it is so annoying). Scrolling down the page lags. It has been like this for awhile, and it the only site besides ebey that is really slow for me. I can't figure out why.
Uhm.. that's strange... BTW, after a while the flakes stop falling when the page has loaded.. does the problem disappear when the flakes stops?
For me the site is working as always and my PC is sure not the top of the top :D

fishfreek is the man for you, but if the flakes are the problem, I don't think there is another solution beside removing them...

huh?what flakes?
hmmm....i'm guessing the feature doesn't work with opera
LOL, possible since there should be snow flakes falling from the top of the screen for the first few second in every page :)

Your proably running something else in the background. Regretfully the javascript to ranomize the snowflake fall uses up a fair amount of CPU resources and if your using something else thats rahter cpu intensive atthe sam etime you can notice lag in a partiuclar program.

I don't see any snowflake either, using Mozilla 1.5 though.
edit: Loaded the page with IE, and monitored CPU usage, it's using 100% cpu time on my 1800+! Probably the 20ms timer on the snowflake is too much for the cpu.

Same for me.
It became slow and uses 100 % of my CPU even if page is fully loaded and snow not fallin.
And it happens only with JW. Also same problem with PC at work.
1.33 AMD, 512 RAM. IE6.0

Same with Opere for me
It seems like page is fully loaded and it is still something going on and pushes my CPU to 100 %

Is it possible to either reduce the amount of cpu power the snowflakes are eating up?
One idea that came to mind is to have it linked to the board style. So you could have normal cobalt, and then cobalt with snow. Or plain halloween or halloween with snow :D
Just an idea to try and ease the lagginess some ppl (including me) experience.
The idea is not that bad, but with all the work there is lately, I suppose it's better to wait for Christmas to come :D

Then after all which is the resolution to decide this problem? :?:
I am very confused for this

There is non resolution. Else you disable javascript on your browser.
Its only gonna be here for probably another two weeks anyway.
