Hey RC, looking to change ur rear tires anytime soon

I am figuring if I can't go light on the loud pedal then doesn't matter what tyres I put uot back they will melt away... ;)

So I want to try keep to a set a season like I always have. I seem to get about 10,000 miels to a set of GY F1 SC's... I could use up a set of softer tyres in a weekend probably hehe

I was going to do just a little burnout, and the it got going and I thought abouttrying to kick it around but I was going a little faster than anticipated - so I just trid to get it to grip and try goign forward again.. ;)

Mindful that it's real easy to end up in a ditch... hehe

10K a year for insurance in Kanukland? Holeeeee shiznit!

I am quite surprise actually, 10k miles sound pretty descent considering all that power and ur occasionaly heavy right foot ;)

Yeah...got into a little fender bender 2 years ago during a snow storm (remember I post earlier I didnt use snow tires lol)...oh well, that help alittle. But even without that little thingy it will still cost 7~8k a year. Toronto is not the easiest place to own a fast car.

$2200 a year for me.. that's both cars ;)

Yeah - the Z06 is really the best allround sports car for me.

Cheap to buy, cheap to insure, cheap to run, cheap to mod - and goes like stink.

The overall cost of ownership of Viper, Porker, Beemer, Benz etc is just way more than I am willing to spend for my 4 wheeled thrills.

2200??!!   u have no idea how far my jaw has dropped....

No kidding......if I had ur rate, believe me I am sleeping infront of a chevy dealer rite now. (will prolly go for a second hand one tho.....just can't justify the new car depreciation ..u know what i mean  )

2200 sounsd about right... my rate is coming down seriously in less then 1 year now... so when i turn 24; and finances willing... something like a Z is heading my way... but, i always have a soft spot in my heart for the 911... my rate for my jeep at 23 is less then 1700$ full coverage... 1 more year... (with my current insurance agent) 8)

i could 'hear' your clutch in/out action in those takeoffs :)

Well - I prefer not to post it for the entire world to get through a free website. JW is about the closest I can get to "controlled" release ;) hehe

That was a nice video - the sound is damn gorgeous, so loud, so 'muscle'... that's the exhaust all the Vettes should have as standard :P

BTW, seems that you almost lost the car in the second burnout!!

The "second burnout" is really the same as the "first" just from a different angle... ;)

I had all the electronic nannies turned off there - normally I keep ActiveHandling on.. which tries very hard to prevent thos situtions.. but with no electronic interventin the tyres just melt away and you try point it where you want to go :) hehe

You're always on the edge... so you leave it till you think you can steer out of it... then when you see God you let off the gas regain grip, straighten and go ;)

I am always mindful that the next silly activity could so easily throw me into a ditch.. :P

Thanks for providing some action :D this is after the latest mods I guess

Correct.

geez you Yanks get ripped off!!!

Your paying $1700 USD a year for a Jeep? I pay about half that for the WRX, and I'm the same age and its considered a "risky" car.

EDIT

That thing sounds brutal!!!! Nice launches too, I can't quite create that much smoke.... :P

my rate has been dropping each of last two 6 mo periods... but not much

on my 24th, it drops down to 500-600/year it all depends on the insurance company. it definately helps i have 0 tickets and such... i know i have a better deal then any of my other friends

Just watched this vid, one of the blokes kept zooming on the camera, couldnt get a sense of speed then, but the last shots were good, you were flying by then :)

and i thought you were going to go off the road for sure for a second, but well saved there :P

Do you have any track time video? or its all street racing vids?

is your insurance company a 25 yr. bias? mine sets back @ 24... i've heard some are set at 26 even... i've been quoted 2100/year @21 for a WRX... is there that many more accidents/thefts in delaware?

graywolf624
12-28-2005, 07:20 PM
25 yr bias, but the answer to your accidents question is apparently yes. I dont see that many accidents, but we do have a disproportianently large amount of traffic around these parts. Being surrounded by 3 major cities with 2 more within 100 miles from here does that. (baltimore : 30-40 miles... philly: 30-40 miles... wilmington: 10 miles...)

RC45
12-28-2005, 09:22 PM
^^ Damn - our inner city is bigger than your entire bi/tri/quad state area... ;)

graywolf624
12-28-2005, 09:28 PM
Yeah.. Atlanta is the size of delaware.. Its funny cause where Im at in the middle of all this crap theres nothing.. But the traffic from one to the other on a day to day basis is maddening.

Wilmington= small city of 77 000
Philadelphia metropolitin area= 6.2 million people (1.4 in the city)
Baltimore= 651,154
The town I live in has 28,547 people.

I have people at work that commute from each of these locations. We're only 2 hrs drive from dc and nycity too, so trucking is big as well. Thats why our insurance is obscene.

Happy me ;)
