I know it is odd, but one the daily commute home from London, everyone was packed in as usual. As my eyes skipped around, trying not to make eye contact with anyone for too long, I noticed several people having a txt conversation. I know this is nothing new, but it was nice to see how a few simple words could crack a smile across people's faces.

I know this is nothing new, but hey, what ya going to do?!

Illegal?why it may be illegal? here in Italy there's a Christmas offer, we can send 100sms a day, until 1' Jan, paying only 7€ (something like 7$). Imagini how much funny it is, sending a lot of messages, evne just for fun...

what the f**k!!!!! illegal, are you on drugs or something?

I think BADMIHAI is referring to the ban of the use of mobile phones while driving a car. In the Netherlands it's not allowed to send sms when you're driving your car. That also goes for when you're stuck in a traffic jam.

as for the origional post, i use sms's all the time, infact i think thats what most of my bill is for sms msg's!

very good for quick msg's, better than phone calls IMO.
when u write sms's u abreviate words, in real weird ways, i will see if i can find a web site that talks about it more.

SMS are strange.. many friends of mine send at least 10 or even 20 of them every day... I send maybe 10/month, but more like 5.. usually if I have to tell something to somebody I prefer to call him/her, even just for 10 seconds... with my phone company I had a special offer for the past 2 month where I can send how many SMS I want, from 6 pm to 7 pm for free... LOL I used that only once! :D

I tend to use both. If you have one quick question to someone I prefer to send an SMS. Otherwise you're on the phone with someone asking how are you etc etc. It would be rude to phone someone, asks the question and as soon as you've heard the answer, hang up. Do the same with SMS and it's not rude at all.
