Well, here in Brazil the Auto Esporte program test the Gallardo
results:
acceleration
0-100 km/h (s) -> 5,7
0-400 m (s) -> 13,7
0-1000 m (s) -> 24,2 (at 22,7,3 km/h)
return of speed
40-80 km/h (3ª) -> 4,3s at 71,8m
60-100 km/k (4ª) -> 5,5s at 120,7 m
80-120 km/h (5ª) -> 7,0 at 193,9m
lockwire
100 km/h (m) -> 40,4
80 km/h (m) -> 24,8
60 km/h -> 14,4
Top Speed(s)
1ª 97 km/h at 7800 rpm
2ª 130 km/h at 7800 rpm
3ª 175 km/h at 7800 rpm
4ª 220 km/h at 7800 rpm
5ª -------------------------
6ª 285,2 km/h
I buy this magazine now in my work, later in my house I'll scan the article and I believe this auto test later in Auto Esporte TV program too :P

is that 285 km/h tested on a high speed oval or a runway?
I only ask because some runways aren't long enough to truly test a car's top speed.
that's a pretty slow 0-100km/h time as well :?
maybe some of it is down to the fuel available in Brazil?

Definitely i agree... the figures are way out.
The 0-100 time may be slow because it incorporates a change from 1st to 2nd @ 97kph... but even a one armed man could change gears faster than that
The car must have been running on very low ocatane fuel IMO, to get such crappy results, or it wasn't warmed up, or it was an extremelly hot day (air is less dense, less air, and therefore oxygen per combustion cycle)
Wierd results anyhoo!

Man, 5.7secs to 100km/h is way off target, maybe the track was wet or the driver did some seriously pathetic gear changing, which I very much doubt. there cre many enviromental factors, either way the claimed time is awfully slow for a 500BHP 4WD car.

I forgot the fact that it was 4WD... it should be virtually idiot proof to launch from rest.

To have an a idea..
In this General Motors oval Circuit.. you can reach 140 km/h without steering the wheel..
2 km of ray..
It was driven by a professional racing driver..
anyway... I think it's a big difference between the speedometer(305 km/h) and the real(285 km/h)...
Remember GM circuit is not in "sea level"..

Those are very poor numbers, they must be the result of poor driving and bad conditions (high temperature, poor fuel, wet conditions).
Also: AWD does not provide a fail-safe method of launching. It's much easier to bog down the engine or burn up the clutch instead of going forward (and consequently destroy the clutch completely).

That is the slowest 1/4 time I have ever seen a Gallardo do, I think these ppl need to learn how to drive a performance car b4 going and testing it. Also it doesnt state the RPM in 6th gear.
As sentra_dude mentioned, 4wd isnt idiot proof and if you dont feed the right power it goes nowhere.

I think its pretty obvious the figures are out, when I was in the Gallardo in Alice Springs (in August) we did an indicated 298kmh which was even at redline - so I doubt 285kmh is accurate. :)
Oh and no way did the 0-100kmh take that long, 5.7s is closer to what the WRX would do and its definately not as quick as the Gallardo was. :wink:

But after launching, there are no traction issues that you may usually associate with a rear-drive high powered car.

Oh, relax guys, I know the reason... Yesterday I spoke with my grandma, and she told me that it was she who drove that G. :mrgreen:
sounds very weird.. but funny as hell if those numbers are true..

Tiff said in his review that first gear got up to 115km/h. Or maybe this was the paddle shift version, which has other gear ratios?
Anyway 5.7 sec is allmost impossible. I should like to see the results from other articles as well. If the difference is allways this big, you can blame the test driver.

This has to be the worst test of a Gallardo , acc , top speed not to mention the braking distances are wayyyyy off :lol: :lol:

Hehe, strange, very strange, this lets u see that the lambo for sure can go over the 300 kph in the vid posted long ago: http://www.motorworld.net/forum/showthread.php?t=21611&highlight=gallardo :D
Aw - a slow Eyetalian car?? ;) :P
