If it was a V it would be cool. On its own its just another executive vehicle.

Uncool. Garish looks, still not on par with cars like the 3-series. Cadillacs reputation does the rest.

i think they're cool.. wouldn't buy one.. but cool..

Well, though choice.. I was tempted to give it a cool because it is different, it will make for a good change compared to the tons of German saloons we see around, like gray, I went for uncool in the end because it isn't the V

AL TT Gray  the picture is of a CTS-V but i think the poll is for a standard V6 Uncool

The CTS-V is a cool car, the normal CTS feels kinda cheap with a few low quality plastic components lying here and there. So I voted uncool.

But if the depreciation of the CTS makes it a sub-$10k car after 4 years, I wouldn't mind getting one

I think Al needs to clarify if we are voting for the V or not. and if not it should be changed to the V.

I was half joking about that but it's not entirely impossible *if* CTS gets the same depreciation as the old Catera it replaced

According to http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/bm/97-00catera.htm a 4 years old Catera would cost C$18k when the msrp was C$45k. The msrp for the CTS is C$39k and with all the rebates and "employee discounts" GM has these days, you never know how cheap the CTS can get few years down the road.

I drive a GM car myself, I don't even want to know how much it's worth now. It sure depreciates alot faster than its 0-60 time

Since many of us have voted, that should be a new entry ;)

I voted it as a cool....because its beautiful, its quite nimble, the sporty version is approached quite a lot to the M5, E55, RS6 performances, and its cheap....if it wasnt enough, im not very picky with the cars built quality as long as they reach a certain level.....

*if* CTS gets the same depreciation as the old Catera it
The difference is people actually want to drive the CTS..

What were the sales numbers on the Catera? Oh thats right, I don't think Ive even seen one on the road lol.

I've seen ONE ever in my life! I was like... wtf is that car  Sadly, I've seen more Alfa Romeo's or Caterham 7's than Catera

If it was the CTS-V, then it would get a cool without question...8)

Unfortunately, its just the CTS, and that car has distinct looks, but they really only work with the CTS-V's sporty enhancements, so just an 'uncool'.

CTS sucks - CTS-V rocks.

Is this vote for the CTS or the CTS-V? ;)

I think this thing is cool, I'd really like to drive the CTS-V, with a supercharger and shock some M5 Drivers.

Yeah, it's "ugly" enough to scare off old poeple and it has sporting potential. And the V has an old Corvette engine in it. I think it's pretty cool.

It was the first car from Cadillac that proved that not all American cars needed to be massive cars that handled like battleships. That and the Lincoln LS are my two favorite American made cars.

it's a cadillac, even your grandfather knows what that is...!

The normal CTS is completely boring: read uncool here :?

But I very like the CTS-V (Cool), I often drive a CTS-V of one of my friend in more to have tested several times at my nearest GM dealer. I seriously consider to buy a used CTS-V (50 000$ CDN) soon while waiting for a new RS4 (105 000 $ CDN).

Have to say uncool after all the problems a friend had with his V and the subsequent bath he took on resale when he sold it.

Cool, Because it's a start to bring back the name for Cadillac, instead of those depressing huge FWD tank practice hearses old foggies drive fromt the 90's. Good job cadillac.

CTS uncool
CTS-V up to 2008 uncool, because you can't tell the difference between the two other than the V badge. Yes it performs really well for the size of the car it is, but you have to give some more discerning features on performance model cars.

Now, the 2009 model CTS-V is a whole other story, that is weapons grade fire power right there. It looks way separate than the standard model with the wheel arches and reverse intake hood. Nevermind the sub 8 minute ring busting performance.

For that particular CTS model, I give it a seriously cool. Also because of the completely redone interior as well.

So sleepers aren't cool?

Spiffu
07-17-2008, 03:26 AM
Sure sleepers are cool, but the previous V's weren't "civic with a LS6 under the hood" kind of sleeper, it was more like GM was just fine doing the engineering part on the car and not any distinguishing body work for it.

The Audio RS4 is a good example for them to work by. And the new one seems to be an end result. Seperate from the S4 but not so much that you'll think it's a new car.

Hmmm - perhaps you were mistaking all the V6 CTS's with fake V badges.

The real pre-2009 CTS-V, are distinct from ever angle - and there was your 6 speed luxo missile right there ;).
