Is it just me or is it that all, or most, of the GPS or voice activation voices are female and they sound pretty much the same? I don't have the luxury of owning a vehicle with either functions, but from what I've seen and from my friend's cars they've all been female voiced. Why the hell is that?

With the GPS system a friend of mine uses you can choose between 15 or so languages (including national differences, for example: UK-US-AUS English, or Belgian vs Dutch Dutch etc). And with all you can opt for a male or female. But for some much spoken languages you can choose between two female voices. One is a more sexy sounding voice, the other one sounds more firm :D No such difference exists for the male voice.
You should expect it otherwise, cause female drivers get lost more often

the difference is this:
female: turn left .5miles
male: i think we turn left somewhere, we'll find it eventually
