On this week's Top Gear - the biggest challenge yet - can Jeremy in an £830k Bugatti Veyron beat the boys in a light aircraft flown by Captain Slow? What is faster a car or a dog, and Alan Titchmarsh is the 'Star in a Reasonably Priced Car'.

Will beinteresting to see what wins... the Veyron is certainly faster than the light-plane, but will the Veyron be forced to take a less direct route... whatever the outcome, the show will still be great

Titchmarsh - a TV gardener, for those who don't know - i haven't seen him in a while :? Does he need a bit of cash to get that new water-feature to get Dimmock and her peanuts in to install it :P :wink:

as for titchmash, he writes novels resonably sucessfully i think also heard him narrating some stuff, I guess this appearance means he has a new programme or book coming out soon :P

I think it will be a very close call. All that weight the Veyron i carrying around won't exactly help on the TG-track, but 1001bhp will of course..

I'm anxious to see the Bugatti, I genuinely thought it would never go into production and if by some chance, they did make it..that it would be a joke..but from what I've read so far I seem to be very wrong...it should be interesting

Not a chance IMO, Jeremy certainly had the car during the official car press release so I doubt they had the time to take it in England and then back (even at 253 mph :wink: ) But we can hope !!

I am not sure that it would beat the Zonda F, possible because the Top Gear track seems to be fast without some right-left corners that would penalise the Veyron due to its weight ...

Me thinks you're right!

I also seriously doubt that they will get to give it ot the Stig for a lap. If they did, There's no doubt in my mind that it would beat the Zonda F. It might be a bit slower through the corners, but it will more than make up for that in the straights.

Remember what's being said about this car. It's faster from 0-200 mph than a Mclaren is from 120 - 200. Thats speed like the world has never seen from a street-legal production car.

even w/out the lap (im sure one day they'll get it... hopefully during summer 06) this is going to be amazing to watch :)

Yes i read that on the last TG magazine ... its amazing ...

Even from 0 to 100 ... 2.5 seconds is by far far away the fastest car ever produced ...

With the uploading time (over 200 MB easy) I should think about 3 hours...but the other feaures (they were also quite nice) will be up sooner to keep you all going...

hehe, my favourite was one I hadn't heard elsewhere in the mag reviews (also available on JW ) Each indicator/ winscreen wiper etc stalk costs £4500 to make, thats like a perodua kelisa each :lol:

Well Top Gear is now mainstream. As such the release groups who aren't kiddies who are wondering if they have their aerial plugged in release it. Somehow there is a 700mb rip about already, of course we don't talk of such things here, but just wanted to let you know it isn't our old friends :P
Anyway torrents suck because i can't use them here :P and well there are too many leeches about :bah:

Well I could probably match their encoding time of a 700 MB ripp but its my crappy upload speed that is the real bottle neck..saying that they must have got it out of the UK somehow so they must have a really fast upload connection somewhere.

Actually with your crappy connection you can upload it to JW and i can get it faster than they do ... just checked the site they got a 700mb rip and there are like 3 seeders and 1000 leechers ... so it wont download for a couple of weeks .

Exactly, thats why when its not possible to offer such videos anymore, JW will still be strong and certain others probably won't. JW is about alot mroe than a few vids :D

That you dont need to upload the files to a server ,you can have a lot of upstream in your house and serve it from there ...

except when you have any more then 1 person d/l from you... then its utterly pointless... its not like your main computer is on a Full Duplex server :wink:

Well jabbasworld has like 50mb of upstream bandwith ... even when we had 10mb the server crashed sometimes with popular videos

Am i the only one who was slightly disappointed with the Veyron feature? I think they could have done a bit more with it.... :bah:


On a separate note, the Marcos sounded fantastic and i enjoyed Our Nige's performance! :D
