There is usually a reason a car lasts a long time ;-) although myself i'm not keen on them they are still more unique than most of the boring boxes around today. Thats why i'm liking citroens design lately, C6 is a beauty but totally different to the accepted executive car, nice design endures and you don't blend in with all the other bores who consider boring practicalites. Just like Alfa owners eh dan ;-)

I believe it is cool, very cool actually, but not Sub-zero.. The shape and the looks of it is very unique, since it came out in the early days before I was born, until now I do see it in the streets, it's like Michel Jackson, he is there somewhere now, but you can not hate his old songs. I don't know if this is relevant, but COOL. 8)

Look at the design of other cars when this car was released and then look at its price-tag. This thing was a budget family car with curvy looks that werent out of place from a Bugatti.

Definitely a classic. They may be econo cars but you cant kill them. They were good honest little budget cars for their time. They always seem to make you smile when you see one. I love the early sixties models with the ragtop sunroof.

i own one, and its my first car :D
don't quite understand how a person could hate them, its the type of car you can do anything with, whether its converting it to a boat and driving across the channel or converting to a dune buggy. and 50 years of production shows nothing but integrity from the beetle, my 1968 engine still starts 1st time in winter.

I find it hard to think of this car in terms of cool or uncool, as it ticks many boxes in terms of reliability and practicality. I'm not sure that it produces the same emotions in people as other cool vehicles, such as the Ford GT. Personally I have always loved these vehicles but never regarded them as cool. They are a car I would drive even if everyone else thought I was a dork for doing so.
