my best friends bro died yesterday - he was just 22. Dunno what to say to the family becasue I can't really deal with it tbh. I'm just sort of dumbfounded and sad.

Sorry to post - just trying to grieve I guess.

Cause of death...

accident?

illness?

self inflicted?

crime related?

This has a big impact on how one deals with the event.

Shame it happened to such young person.

Just be sincere in your condolences when you meet your best friend's family. Sometimes even a silent presence is a great comfort in dark times such as these. :(

condolences to your friends family. may your friends brother rest in peace.
After my grandfather died(77 y/o) last year i didn't know that i have to be sorry or not. Because he had long ilness and he had alotof pain his last two month. After he died i talked with alotof people and all of them said he had alotof pain and maybe dying is better than living like that.
Talking with other people is always helps.

RIP

Im sure that the situation makes it even more shocking, the thing you mentioned about the animal.

the best thing you can do is to clear your mind dude, and let everything in your mind go.
