The Z4 is facelifted and finally the Z4 M roadster will be presented at the Detroit motorshow. Powered by the 3.2 straight six M3 engine, this car produces 343 bhp and 365 Nm of torque. This will launch the car from 0-100 in 5 seconds.

I was thinking exactly the sama as you dani. The previous Z3M really differed from the standard Z3. No shadow on the old M3 engine but I still think that it would be better for the sales to put in a newer engine.

I also agree about that.

I personally think it is hard to get an agressive car with the Z4 styling without making it looking cheap. Wider wheel arches (which was one of the details that gave the Z3 M roadster the agressive look) will not match the lines of the car and therefore would make it looking cheap.

Yes, it's a little bit disappointing to see that the looks haven't changed much. It looks just like it was in the spy photos many many months ago. It lacks character imo. The front looks like a sad man, who is just about to cry :). Even the back lacks that little something. I was expecting more, well let's keep the hopes up for the z4 m coupe. Z3 m coupe was and is something wonderful as a design, hope they don't ruin it.

My first impression was exactly the same. But when you think about it, the old Z3 M looked so aggressive because the standard Z3 - even on the biggest alloys available - looked like a complete girl's car. The standard Z4 looks pretty butch so it's difficult to achieve the same contrast between the standard version and the 'M' version. The most important thing is that with 340bhp, this thing is really going to move. Looking forward to the road test vs the SLK55 already :D

So much time after the Z4 came out and the M version is "just" this ?! :roll:

I was expecting it to be more aggressive. But , in fact, the old Z3 M wasn't much different from the base model, just like this one. But who cares ?! It's a great machine for sure :o In black it will look great :wink:

The facelift makes the car really look better and i also think it looks quite agressive. Good Job BMW :D

Totally agree! a little too soft for my taste... but still, I think the coupe will look more agressive!

The only issue i see is that the rear wheels need to be an inch wider, but other than that it's what i expected and i'm sure the driving experience will be amazing and isn't that what counts, especially in a BMW.

i'm not 100% sure this is right. i was expecting a more pronounced flare on rear fenders :? this could just be a mockup car for the facelift pictures with the M exhaust bolted up to an M54. I was told the engine would be taken out to 3.5 liters by a very reliable source (see my BMW thread). but i guess we're going to have to wait for the Detroit show to see if this is it.

Ehhh, yeah I agree with everyone else that it should be more aggressive. Those taillights are nasty too. So I guess since this is the facelifted version, there would only be 3 years of the M Roadster? Since BMW goes through a 7 year model cycle.

Bring back the old tailights!!! ;)

looking at the shot of the instrument cluster i see it's got the EML light in the tach. The M's don't have EML warning lights. I'm starting to think there is just a normal engine in there with a few M badges thrown around it to pique some interest.

i'm not 100% sure this is right.
The things that would lead me to believe that are
1) the alloys - they just look a bit too small for an M version
2) rear tyres - too narrow for an M
3) the interior - i know BMW doesnt make flashy interiors, but this one looks too 'normal'

Well, the Ellipsoids that came w/ the 3.0i were already 18s. Those look like 18s in the picture. As far as the interior is concern, usually it is not much different, just a few splash of M here and there, like the pics. Steering wheel, shift knob, gauges, door sills, etc.

I like the interior though, nice simple clean matt black.

Wow, very observant. That is definitely the case. It is always on the right side of the car, never have I seen it on the left. Then again this is "suppose" to be just a concept.

IMO it looks like z4 3.0 with m sport package not like z4 m roadster. But overall design od car looks really good and specs of car is not bad.

Did anyone notice it has the old Michelin PS1s?? I agree about the car looking a bit dull, wouldn`t be surprised if it turns out much more agressive

Well - there's the key slot for the trunk on the right - so I guess it was easier to put the M badge on the left instead of re-designing the whole trunk :wink:

the M badge would still go where the Z4 badge would go.

you don't really have anymore room to talk RC. The Z06 has now destroyed all your price range arguments :wink: the styling of the C6 isn't all that great if you ask me. The C2 and C5 are the sexiest Vettes. The C6 has dropped to the design quality of the rest of the GM lines :P

Love what BMW have done with the car, could have only wished for a widebody, but theres something nice about how under stated it looks. I'm sure it would go like the stink as expected.
