I dunno mate, I dont like this high scoring bullshit...I'm too used to football(not the american one) and high scores just look weird to me....I mean its not bad, but it is.....Odd, Im just not used to seeing so many goals scored.
If it was up to me I would have just ripped off the players like they did and kept all the rules.

just to let everyone know, this is how hockey is supposed to be played,
the red line, moving the nets forward, big pads, are all things that they ADDED in the first place, now they are just going back to the was things should be.
the only way to improve would to play on bigger ice.
mayb we will have those good ol days of 200+ point players :P if anyone knows what i am talking about.

I haven't watched any games yet (as I can't here in Aust.), but from what I've read the changes seem to have improved the game. :D

The hockey has been fun to watch, but its gay that wingers can take the puck to the net and the defence can't really smoke them. Even when going into corners, its a bit restrained. Don't get me wrong, i hated all the clutching and grabbing, but some physical play would definitely make me like the game more. That being said, hockey has always been boring to the rest of the world so i don't mind the high scores if it means that it attracts more fans. Oh and the leafs can't keep losing in shootouts, but other than that its fun again. :D :D :D

well, to me the points are coming from weak defenses, more then goalies with oversized padding/jersies... and penalty killing specifically, with all the penalties being called now, and the need for a good penalty kill.
the penguins were originally said to the team to beat this season... but OMG, i can hardly believe what Ottawa and Nashville! 6-1 and 7-0 respectively... but Detroit, everybody called out detroit as not having much of a chance with the salary cap effectively cutting our budget in 1/2, we are at 9-1!
i smell a presidents trophy this season

We're 10 games in boys - lets calm down. I smell a trade looming with the Leafs - based on what Quinn was saying after the game last night - bye bye Berg - I hope - hello Brandon Whitt
The dude is a wrecking ball - also I agree with you STIKZ - they need to add a little North American play back into this game - and give the D some leeway - also bring back the normal size goal pads for fuck sakes- Eddie looks like an umpaloompa in net

one thing i really am finding myself not liking are the new composite hockey sticks... they seem to be breaking all over the place, thankfully, im not aware of any breaking yet during a shoot out.
both teams are always able to clear the rink... ive never had a problem with that, a good offence can keep the pressure on, and passes amazingly well in the zone.
i agree, some of the hooking calls seem a little outlandish.

jagr stick broke during the shoot out,
the sticks are a good thing, if you look at them breaking as a bad thing look at it from a players point.
all that energy going into the stick and out, instead of back up the stick and into your hands.

and did any player once complain? now broken sticks are sliding on the ice till some call is made... anyway, i just think its more trouble then its worth

lots of players did complain much like metal bats in baseball. wooden sticks in hockey are the same, constants vibration can cause injury in your laters years

nah, i think its only in college and little league that they use aluminum bats.

Sticks
Stick blades may be wood, plastic or graphite. Shafts may be made of wood, aluminum, graphite or plastic.
it seems they are still allowed

MLB never allowed it, but i think NCAA may.
and no NHL player of note uses a metal stick,
