Here's a new quiz. I enjoyed the last one so I made one mysef. Plz answer like this: Car reviewer - feature. For instance: Tiff - BMW M3.

1. Italians, don't you just love them

2. this is a black art

3. you feel more connected, more in charge, less of a passenger

4. the purest, most sensational RWD handling I've encountered in a long time

5. it may not have the looks or the pedigree of an Aston Martin or Ferrari but then again it never had the price tag either. But it certainly had the pace

6. it certainly feels really powerfull and these slightly bigger wheels are putting it onto the road well

7. we see Tiff performing automotive ballet in some exotic piece of metal

8. I certainly wasn't expected to be entertained

9. it's all in the transmission

10. if they made it a proper four seater...

I've tried to make it a bit harder. Curious how many people will know.

Good luck!

Obviously I had no time to browse through all the vids :p

And hell, it's impossible for me :(

The only one, but not sure at all, is #1

1. Italians, don't you just love them Vicki - Alfa Romeo 156 GTA (not sure)

Nope sorry TT, that's not the solution.

Maybe I've overdone it a bit  but I'll just wait and see what the rest makes of it (AlienDB7 should be quite good at this).

LOL, don't worry ;) I doubt there is someone able to get them all w/o having to watch all the vids again :p

Wow.. this is hard! I sort of have an idea of who said it.. but which feature, that's hard! You even got quotes from the intro section! Tricky :)

1. Vick - Ducati

2. Tom Ford - show car thing?

3.

4. Tiff - Porsche 911?

5. Adrian - Hyundai Coupe

6. Jeremy - DB7 GT vs. XKR-R

7. Quinten - intro of a "best of", the best sports car one?

8.

9.

10. Jeremy - VX220 Turbo

Will answer the rest later, don't have time to watch the vids til tomorrow...

LOL, don't worry ;) I doubt there is someone able to get them all w/o having to watch all the vids again :p

yes, i think i may have trouble finding 12 hours to watch the videos today  and i wouldn't say you've overdone it, what's the word i'm looking for?.. yeah, you've really gone overboard this time.. :D actually quite a good quiz.. so good, that i just have one guess for one of the questions:

3. sounds like jeremy

that is all for now

1zippo1
06-29-2003, 06:13 PM
Ok, shit I've really made it WAY too hard. Only crochico knew half an answer :?
I made it so hard because I thought the first quiz was too easy.

So I will help you folks out and make the parts I've picked out longer.

1. ... and then as a piece the resistance the said: let's turbocharge it. Not with one turbo, or two or even three, no this has four turbocharges. Italians, don't you just love them

2. this isn't chauffering, this is a black art

3. With four wheel drive it's more surefooted through the corners too, especially when it's raining. So you feel more connected, more in charge, less of a passenger.

4. It has got this fantastic driving position, one of the snappyest gearchanges I've ever come across. It has even got a fantasically gripping stearing wheel, to say nothing of the handling: the purest, most sensational RWD handling I've encountered in a long time.

5.it may not have the looks or the pedigree of an Aston Martin or Ferrari but then again it never had the price tag either. But it certainly had the pace
...
Whenever it whent racing it crushed the opposition. In fact, in the Australian touring car championship, they changed the rules so the car could be outlowed.

6. Well you can certainly really feel the extra power on this car, it has about 30% more then the standard ******* wich takes it up to *** brake horse power.
...
it certainly feels really powerfull and these slightly bigger wheels are putting it onto the road well
...
There's no mistaken this handling, this is ******. Very direct steering, no power assistance offcourse

7. Every week we see Tiff performing automotive ballet in some exotic piece of metal. Isn't it fantastic the way he and racing drivers like him
can take a car to its limits. But what about the people who have to find those limits in the first place.

8. I wan't expecting any more as that and I certainly wasn't expected to be entertained. This whole car is full of feel. It's a simple thing, it has got small tires, the engine needs to be trashed if you want anything out of it.

9. He knows about performance, he knows about power. And he know all about speed. So if you're not quick enough first time, there's still a chance to pick up.
...
it's all in the transmission

10. Look, if you want four seats buy a mondeo. If they made it a proper four seater, it wouldn't look so good, it wouldn't go quite so quickly.

Just a quick reply Zippo....I knew the answer to question one without the extra clue...its when clarkson is reviewing the Bugatti EB110 and describing how the meeting would have gone at Bugatti.... when deciding how many turbo chargers the car was to have...

I havent had a chance to study the rest of the quiz...as I have been so behind due to some damn computer problems...

1. ... and then as a piece the resistance the said: let's turbocharge it. Not with one turbo, or two or even three, no this has four turbocharges. Italians, don't you just love them
Jeremy Clarkson - Bugatti EB110 (this is NOT top gear, it's from Jeremy's Most Outrageous video!!)

2. this isn't chauffering, this is a black art
Quinten - Bentley driving school

3. With four wheel drive it's more surefooted through the corners too, especially when it's raining. So you feel more connected, more in charge, less of a passenger.
Jeremy Clarkson - Audi A8 (?)

4. It has got this fantastic driving position, one of the snappyest gearchanges I've ever come across. It has even got a fantasically gripping stearing wheel, to say nothing of the handling: the purest, most sensational RWD handling I've encountered in a long time.
Jeremy - Koenigseggggggggggg CC

5.it may not have the looks or the pedigree of an Aston Martin or Ferrari but then again it never had the price tag either. But it certainly had the pace
...
Whenever it whent racing it crushed the opposition. In fact, in the Australian touring car championship, they changed the rules so the car could be outlowed.
Jeremy - Skyline

7. Every week we see Tiff performing automotive ballet in some exotic piece of metal. Isn't it fantastic the way he and racing drivers like him
can take a car to its limits. But what about the people who have to find those limits in the first place.
Jeremy - factory driver? That old ferrari clip? (Haven't seen the whole thing)[/b]

Yep, Jabba and AlienDB7 got the first one correct.

The rest:
2. correct
3. correct
4. nope
5. half
7. nope

Jeremy - factory driver you said, I don't know that clip I think.

draak666
06-30-2003, 08:19 AM
OK, so these are the bits of answers I think I figured out:

4. Tiff -
5. Quinten - some Japanese car
6. - Lotus Elise 111s
7. Vicky -
8. That kid from Top Gear (I keep forgetting his name) -
9. That kid from Top Gear (I keep forgetting his name) again-
10. Jeremy – Renault Clio

I just burned all of my TG/5thG clips on cd’s and erased them from my HD so I couldn’t check right away, damn…

It sure is hard, but it's great to read these quotes. They're brilliant.

1zippo1
06-30-2003, 11:55 AM
With "That kid from Top Gear" you probably mean Richard Hammond, the youngest of the three. Yes, 8 OR 9 was Richard Hammond, but just one of the two.

I'm gonna start giving tips.

This is what we allready know and what needs to be filled in
1. JC - Bugatti EB110
2. Quentin Wilson - Bentley Driving school
3. JC - Audi A8
4. ? - ?
5. ? - Skyline
6. ? - ?
7. ? - ?
8. ? - ?
9. Richard Hammond -
10. ? - ?

This are some tips about the remaining few:
4. a roadster
6. a classic
7. a feature about a guy not a car
8. Top Gear, this season
9. common, I've typed 95% of the words that appear in this video
10. Not the clio, but starts with the same ...

AlienDB7
06-30-2003, 02:57 PM
5. TIff - Skyline (when he compared it to good looking supercars)
8. Jeremy - Smart roadster?
9. Richard Hammond - Track day?

1zippo1
06-30-2003, 03:08 PM
LOL, and I thought you would know about 3 or 4 more after these tips :)

I think some more tips are neccesary:
4. Japanese roadster
6. british classic
7. A feature about a test driver called ...
8. Top Gear, this season not with JC
9. Richard Hammond, very short video clip, ripped by jabba
10. Not the clio, but starts with the same letter

By the way you said:
5. TIff - Skyline (when he compared it to good looking supercars)
That was not correct so only one person left who reviewed the car :P

AlienDB7
06-30-2003, 03:25 PM
LOL... number 9 is that advert (UK horizons)? Oh man, now you're really going too far!!

draak666
06-30-2003, 03:47 PM
Pfff, this is still so hard. Here’s some more attempts:

4. Tiff - Honda S2000
6. Quentin - Cobra
7. Jeremy – Valentino Bilbao (Lamborghini test driver)

1zippo1
06-30-2003, 03:47 PM
Yep, number 9 is the TG advert from the 2003 season.
Draak666 got number 4 allmost right, that was Jason Barlow(the dude from wrong car, right car now) with the S2000.

Ok, this is a hard quiz, I tried to make it hard so I succeeded in doing that.
One of the things that makes it this hard is that I picked presenter who are less known.

Anyway, next time I'll take care I pick more popular and better know vid's.

If no one knows I'll give the answers in a couple of hours.

1zippo1
06-30-2003, 04:23 PM
Ok, last series of tips before I give away the answers.

5. Who else but Tiff and JC reviewed the Skyline... (if you don't know his name just describe him)
6. british classic still used in historic races wich is easy to handle and is faster in the corners then a lot of cars wich are allmost twice its size
7. was one of the test drivers of the Jaguar E-Type and other jags of that time
8. a small car wich they reviewed on TG this season
10. Not the clio, but starts with the same letter / a sportscar without any electonic aides to keep you on the road

Lets see if you now can get them all

AlienDB7
06-30-2003, 04:46 PM
5. Who else but Tiff and JC reviewed the Skyline... (if you don't know his name just describe him)
Don't tell me it's the fat jason guy from the 2002 top gear!

6. british classic still used in historic races wich is easy to handle and is faster in the corners then a lot of cars wich are allmost twice its size
Wonder if it's the Lotus 7

7. was one of the test drivers of the Jaguar E-Type and other jags of that time
Really not sure :(

8. a small car wich they reviewed on TG this season
Richard Hammond - Peugeot 206 GTi?

10. Not the clio, but starts with the same letter / a sportscar without any electonic aides to keep you on the road
Shelby Cobra?

1zippo1
06-30-2003, 04:51 PM
5 is correct... the others aren't :?

6. a SMALL british classic still used in historic races wich is easy to handle and is faster in the corners then a lot of cars wich are allmost twice its size

7. is really hard, I admit

8. nope, another small car, ... only one left again so :P

10. nope, not the cobra but a british sports car

draak666
06-30-2003, 05:21 PM
I never give up:

6. Westfield

7. Haven't seen the clip but I remember a name: Noram Dewis (or something)

10. British sportscar: Caterham

1zippo1
06-30-2003, 05:27 PM
6. Nope, never seen a review about the Westfield or the Lotus 7 on Top Gear, did you? I'm even starting to doubt about the car's origins because you don't guess this one. I thought this one would be quite easy. My mom once had one, and I'm not talking about the Lada :P.

7. Yep, correct it was Andy Wilman doing a show on Norman Dewis.

10. Nope, you guys really are just guessing with number 5-6-10 :D

draak666
06-30-2003, 06:04 PM
Damn. Since you write Small with capital letters, you must be talking about the Mini. Is it the Mini Cooper? It is indeed fast in corners and my mom had one too. :P

draak666
06-30-2003, 06:09 PM
Final guess for number ten: TVR Cerbera

1zippo1
06-30-2003, 06:20 PM
Pffff, at last :D

Draak666, you got 6 & 10 correct too so congrats!!

So only number 8 is left, but I'll just tell it: Jason May - Porodua Calisa.
That's that small budget car of wich he said it was the first thing to come close to the handling of the Mini Cooper, that was why he was entertained.

Ok, just a quick overview of the solutions then:
1. JC - Bugatti EB110
2. Quentin Wilson - Bentley Driving school
3. JC - Audi A8
4. Jason Barlow - S2000
5. Jason Dawne - Skyline
6. Tony Mason - old Mini Cooper S
7. Andy Wilman - Norman Dewis
8. Jason May - Porodua Calisa
9. Richard Hammond - TG advert 2003
10. JC - TVR Cerbera

AlienDB7
06-30-2003, 06:25 PM
This is pretty hard... it's almost embarassing how bad we did :(

6. Doesn't happen to be tiff on lotus elite? I had that in mind in the beginning, but don't think it's right.
8. James May - Perodua Kelisa (checked the video to make sure)

1zippo1
06-30-2003, 06:27 PM
To be honest I think I would have had the same problems as you but I just wanted to try and make it harder because last quiz was just too easy. BUT still very much fun :D

I like doing a quiz on top/5th gear.

AlienDB7
06-30-2003, 06:28 PM
This got to be the hardest quiz ever for this forum. It's fun thou.. Can't wait for the next one. Hopefully it won't require as much guessing :D

draak666
06-30-2003, 06:37 PM
Yes, well at least now we know where the limits of our top gear fanaticism lie :( I guess most of us have over 100 clips now, so it can be really hard to remember them all. It most definitely was fun.

To be honest I've never heard of the Porodua Calisa before, what's it like?

1zippo1
06-30-2003, 06:46 PM
It appeared on Top Gear 2003 EP 4, if you want I can send it to you some time. James may took it for a drive and was quite positive about it. I don't like it's looks but the handling should be the only thing close to a Mini Cooper (wich I love), so I wanted to put it into the quiz.
