I heard some interesting news today.

1:
It seems someone in South Africa has bought a Ferrari F40 GTE!
So if things go well I may be able to see one driven in anger, otherwise at least see it - I hope.

2:
A friend's friend's Porsche 917 replica by Kraftwerkz http://www.kraftwerkz.net/ has arrived too. Its in Gulf colours.
It is being fitted with a 700hp 962 engine as an original flat-12 engine runs to about $1million. It will be awesome.
Hopefully I will be able to attend the shakedown in a month or so.
This is the same guy that owns a real 956.

3:
There is an Enzo in a little museum in SA too!
Which makes 3 owned by South Africans that I know of. 1 In the country on a temporary import, 1 in Europe and the other in the museum. No real chance to see it then. 8(

I know it's sad, but we do not get many new rarities here and many old ones have been sold overseas.

Is there an Enzo in Somerset West in Frank Taylors collection yet?

The Enzo is apparently in Johan Rupert's little museum in Paarl.
I am not going down to the cape anytime soon, but a friend will. He will check up for me. :)

We have been speculating about the F40 which, according to Octane magazine, was bought by a South African collector. Not many collectors here but I think an F40 GTE will be hard to hide. At least I hope so.

The other owners I know about are Theo du Toit and a Mr. Meyer (if I remember the name right) who also owns a 288GTO.

The an F40GT or E or LM was also a car Frank Taylor had his eye on - from what I can recall.

It may be Mr. Taylor then. I know of one other guy who wanted one, but if its him, he has been very quiet about it. 8/

I will do some sleuthing over the next few weeks to try find the car's owner.
