Because people will buy it. I think the Sultan of Brunei has a FX. All kinds of companies sell their protoype cars. Ford sold a bunch of them (like 50 cars) and gave all the money to charity.

As far as I know the Sultan of Brunei doesn't have the prototype of the Enzo. He does have a couple of FXs. It is the car I posted here http://www.motorworld.net/forum/showthread.php?t=3207&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
It's all a bit confusing and I think it started with the press naming the Enzo prototype the FX. The car in the other topic that Ferrari called FX is older than the Enzo prototype, so I doubt Ferrari will have used the name FX for the Enzo prototype.

does anyone have the complete list of the sultans cars?
Chaos in 1983!

not really...he has over 5000 exotics....and almost no one has ever gone into the garages....they are all locked up. Refer to the link stradale posted for more on the Sultan's Cars...

That is a fake page...the car in question is a disguised Enzo Prototype. It has been kluged together out of a bunch of different parts...it has 360 Modena headlights and F50 mirrors (I think). It has a section of false bodywork attached to the rear end so as to make it look a bit more like the F40/F50 with their huge wings. Nobody except Ferrari has these prototypes, and they are certainly not for sale. Besides which, I certainly would've known if such an exotic was for sale in Michigan, I tend to keep tabs on that sort of thing.

some prototypes are ugly IMO, the ones jaguar has come out with and the VW concept is another story for me though.

It's simply an Enzo disguised. It's a prototype made for the road test, so the car can be tested on the road and people won't know the real shape until presentation

thank you chingachgook
these is the enzo being tested, have you guys seen cars on the road covered with black leather and funky things on it. they do that so people wont no what there testing, the spoiler on the back is just a fake one so people can think that the car is going to have the same spoiler as the f50 and f40. it is covered so other companys wont steal the design. Enzo was code named the FX. FX came out in the tokyo autoshow. The FX is a code that ferrari use for new cars that are going to come out. Every model has a FX and a number after it in its testing form.
the FX is not for sale because it belongs to pinninferina the company that designed the car.

Hopefully the final Enzo has notorious changes in comparison to the FX. FX seems to be the Batman's car! However, I supose the FX had, more or less, the same characteristics as the Enzo so...if there is any FX forgotten and without driver i gently offer myself to be its owner... :D
