View Full Version : My dvd menu layout...opinions?

well in my school we have this camp that we go to every year, its for students in grade 10, and it is run by grade 11, 12 and OAC students. I was supposed to walk around and take pictures and film shit and then put together a video. Now the person incharge of my group (called media tech) is a tool and a half... she this chinease girl who knows NOTHING about anything lol, but anyway i suggested to make a Dvd with menus and everything and shes like "do you know how to do that?" as if im a moron who doesnt know what im talking about, any who i have put together a dvd menu. The theme of our camp was a 70's disco theme. And we had to bring some retro looking clothign and dress all "disco-ish" lol. It was alot of fun. Now in this menu we are ganna have a Video and a picture slideshow...i know how to do all that stuff and i have the proper tools for it (adobe photoshop, adobe premier and adobe encore DVD) but she is insisting that she does the video because she thinks she can make it better (she is ganan use windows movie maker btw...lol)...while we were at camp we had to put together a 15 min sample video, i staid up til 6 am doing it and all what she did was breathe down my neck about how im doing everythign wrong, then she finaly went to sleep. But anywho i am hoping that this menu will prove to ppl that its better that i make the video LOL.

I was trying to imitate the austin powers dvd menu, with beyonce striking a sexy pose, but i put in ppl i know instead lool. (the poses are all a joke).
so what do you ppl think? any suggestions? :)

Nah - you just learn to disconnect your kit and leave in it the closet and only take it out for birthdays and anniversaies... :)

LOL nahh man, although that woudl be funny aha. if ur serious about using the layouts i can send u the photoshop files so u can edit them to ur liking :wink:
That would be great, as I had pulled the jpg's into PS and was facing a lot of layer tracing ;)

ahah, which copies do you want? just strictly of the background? or with all the text?
The backgrounds in PSD form with the layers would be good enough.
I use DVD Architect so the actual text buttons and chapter links etc are easy to generate and overlay on the background.
I think I have a similar 70's font.
BTW, what filter/method did yo uuse on the background hotos to get that 2 colour effect?
