I dont know about that video being conclusive either way...It just seems like the F430 driver wasnt as comfortable with the car as the GT3 CS driver...I mean look at the launch...Pathetic...I dont think the GT3 CS traps anywhere near 124mph in the 1/4 like the F430 does. F430 got murdered on the launch..There is special technique you have to do to get those times from the F1 gearbox and its obvious this driver dont know how to do it....Both great cars but you wont see that result too often....

If you watched the full video and read through the Japanese you would see the CS GT3 weighs in at 900kg, more than enough power to weight to dispose of the F430.

I doubt that the engine is standard , even with the weight reduction , it would be impossible for a GT3 to keep the pace with the crushing acc of the F 430 , if the Ferrari goes from 0-100 km/h in 3.6 (after AMS 3.7s ) how fast does that Porsche goes ? :roll:

from the looks of the video ... 3.2 or so ... obviously not a perfect start for the F430, Porsche should be quick off the line, due to rear engine right on those wheel for quick hook up, but still F430 is one quick Ferrari and that Porsche does not go no where near 3.6 seconds 0-100; still ... cool cars ... both of them, regardless of which was is quicker

Very cool race. A lot of it was on the drafting, I thought the GT3 would be take it back after the corner on through the straight.

GT3 Club Sport. :wink: Has a rollcage, among other minor things, but in the end it's a GT3.

This one wasn't stock though... I'd like to know who makes that exhaust for the GT3; sounded great. 8)


But this particular "race" was rather stupid. If you watch the whole thing, the F430 wins against the Gallardo, does a 12.2 quarter mile and has a much higher speed on the acceleration from 200 Km/h test... GT3 did a 12.4 but had a lower speed on the 200 Km/h test (about 10 Km/h, I think), and then the F430 struggles against it...? Come on... :roll:

Its pretty obvious that the GT3 is not stock...Regardless of the GT3 CS lighter weight, on the top end that F430 would anihilate a stock GT3 CS...Also the F430 does 0-60 in 3.5 secs and the 1/4 in 11.6 @ 124mph. Thats Viper SRT10/Porsche GT2 fast....Show me any published numbers of a GT3 CS even approching those accelerative numbers.....On a curcuit I deffinately see the GT3 holding its own vs the F430 but not in all out acceleration....

I completely agree. I read a post on Ferrarichat that stated that because Best Motoring gets its cars from private owners, there is no guarantee that the cars are actually stock. Supposedly, the GT3 had a tweaked ECU and uprated exhausts. There is no way in hell that the F430 could have been this "slow" against the GT3. I mean, just look at the Top Gear review of the 360 CS vs. the GT3 RS... the CS won. Put a CS against a 430, and It'll be obliterated, especially anything over 180 km/h. Therefore the F430 should have beat the GT3 by an even larger margin...

And just as you said, when they were doing the individual runs of the cars, the F430 did the quarter mile quicker, and the high end acceleration (from 200 km/h to xxx.xx km/h) faster by 10 km/h. It probably comes down to the drivers...

What really surprised me is that the F430 absolutely ANNIHALATED the Gallardo... I mean, it wasn't even a contest :shock:

All 996 GT3 (MKII) have the same number of HP = 381. Previous version only had 360
I have read somewere that the GT3RS had some uprated internal engine components. But Porsche still only rates it to 381 HP.
Uprated ECU with sports muffler will give max 10-15 HP

Furthermore, I sincerely doubt that this car weighted only 900 kg's. If they really strip this car down to its bear essentials (like the RSR)
we are still talking about approx. 1100 KG's

The difference shown here, or the lack thereof, are down to driver skills
