Alonso and Renault were the best THIS YEAR.

Next year it will be Kimi Raikonnen WDC

Raikkonnen is by far the better driver.. and when he gets a more reliable package underneath him he will destroy Alonso

Raikkonnen had the better car by far, and he has lost.

I wouldn't say that hes BY FAR better, but I do think that Raikonnen is a better driver...

However, lets all be realistic... Schumacher is in a class of his own both in driver skills and in experience. The only reason why he isn't WC this year is because Ferrari is having some troubles... I predict Ferrari will bounce back next year :D

It is clear that Renault has a better package today and I don't see the point of using Fisi to slow down the Mclarens. Bad luck today for Montoya, but even with Montoya replacing Ralf's position, the constructors will still go to Renault.

My heart still goes to Kimi, but I guess Renault deserves the constructors better than the drivers' champ.

God, I just hate that guy.

whoever said that the Mclarens had a better car this year?

by better, i can agree it was faster... but it wasn not a better car in terms of reliability; not by a long shot. that is why they didnt get the drivers/constructors championships.

anyway, im still rooting for Michael Schumacher for 2006; but i dont think it will be a 2004 esq year.

I would say that luck was on Alonso's side, while bad luck was on Raikonnen's. The guys engine kept blowing and alsorts, and Alonso just got the benifits. I think Riakonen displays a better performance when his car was working correctly.

As a Ferrari fan i think Raikkonen is better than Alonso. If raikkonen had less engine failure or some other problems he would be a champion. But because of Mclaren he lost champion. Alonso is talented guy without a doubt but he didn't have much problem like Raikkonen. If they had same car Raikkonen will be better than Alonso.

im no alonso fan
but he did have quite a season.

given the same car, Raikkonen would've won; but this isnt A1GP, this is F1, where its not just the driver, but its the team; and Renault had the team to beat this year... which leads me to belive that Fisi did not have the same opertunity as Raikonen until the MFR. championship was on the line, and the first race as well... and seems such in some ways with Rubens on as well this year :?:

as i said before, the Mclaren was definately faster; but it was not the better car.

yes this is F1 but topic is "Alonso is the best without any doubt" not "best team is Renault". and yes mclaren is faster but Renault is better .

What was the situation like when Kimi's car didnt have problems? He won.

Did Alonso win every race even though his car was the best on the grid? No. Did he have the fastest race laps? No.

Kimi has 7 WINS
Alonso has 7 WINS

How many failures did Alonso have this season? ZERO

How many did Kimi have? Were do I start counting....

How many fast laps did Kimi have? Now how many did Alonso?

So please, lets not talk about who is the better driver.

Anyway, Schumi is still in a league of his own, with the equipment that he had he still managed 3rd position. While his teammate in the same cars as his finishes 8th. And Fisi finishes 5th having, having a car a class above the Ferrari, and so did Montoyas dumb ass.......

So the best driver this season is Schumaher, followed by Kimi and then comes Alonso

couldn't say it better myself... he almost single handedly made Ferrari a competitve team for most of the season, and definately proved he was better then most of the field with an inferior machine.

Schumi always knows that how a have good performance with bad car.
İ am a Schumi fan since 1997 (this time f1 showed on tvs in Turkey.) and he always had %110 performance of his car . Look at f399 and f2000 and 2005 .If he didn't brake his leg he could have 1 more championship title. Yes in 2002 , 20003 and 2004 he had best car in the grid but he helped alot to develop his car since he came to ferrari in 1996. ferrari didn't have a potential champions car that time.

I also prefer Kimi, at least has demostrated many more this season if not also previous.
Remenber that could be already champion in 2003 or his great victory in Spa last year when he had a reliable machinery.
Congrat to Peter Sauber when he able to Kimi get the superlicense when he only was in the Eurocup F-Renault .

Sure that Alonso is a great driver but I want to be grateful with Fernando for turned my dear sport (as many of you I suppose) in a phenomenon of mass in my country... just like the football.

Before that phenomenon called "alonsomania" people (including some mind friends) didnīt understand that it has of entertained to see a few "fences of advertising" going around a track again and again during two hours almost.
In the TV also the same, the news only shows motorsports for spectacular accidents (if goes with a death better).

Spanish guys around here understand me... or no.

Who the better driver is, i'll leave that in the open. Why?

Raikkonen has proved this year he can do some amazing stuff, most amazing in my opinion is his skill to work his way up through traffic. Nobody has even matched his comebacks during races when starting in midfield

Alonso has had a shitload of luck, whenever someone made a mistake he was there to take full advantage of it. But you have to bear in mind (for those of you who saw him) that he did also did some amazing stuff before his F1 career. Namely his F3 race in francorchamps.
Well i'm waiting to see some of that raw driving, but the guy is so matured now. He always drives neatly. No risks. Remember last year in Monaco. Never in your life will he overtake a backmarker in a turn!!

Now that's a freakin shame, Kimi drives his balls off whereas Alonso is almost like a gentlemen's driver.

If I was Alonso id be giving Max Mosley a very BIG Xmas present. Finally Max has broken the Ferrari Domination next year they can make the rules fair again for all :P

Of the season we did have he deserved it more than Kimi.

The only driver that i detest as a person but respect as a driver is montoya. His performance in germany was very good. But i still think hes a jerk as a person. Hockenheim was another good example of kimi and alonso, alonso won, but for most of the race kimi raced a cleaner better line and time.

Many people also claims tha Alonso wins the Nissan World Series when in real he obtained the champion title in the early Nissan Euro Open. It confuses to the most of people because the F-Nissan now itīs a really all over the world race with only two meets in Spain and the actual singleseater is a F3000 vs a F3 with a bit advantage in power. Certainly many congrats to Adrian Valles for his subchampionship this weekend at Monza!!
