It's a 2002, 1 owner, full Honda maintenance history

This morning I have washed her, changed the oil and filter, changed the MT fluid and diff fluid and I have a K&N on it's way. I will keep her stock other than that, unless I win the lottery in which case a comptech supercharger will get added!!!

My recently-added signature picture should now make a bit more sense.

The Saab is gone, sold privately last Sunday. 8)

Congrats dude, that's a sweet ride for sure, and always loved it when it comes in the less flashy colors :good:

BTW, just added to the stable? I mean, is the Saab still there?

edit - ok LOL, I just noticed the last line, the Saab is gone :D

Thanks man!

350Z and WRX STi were on my shortlist also, but good examples were just over my budget.

I wanted a convertible, so it ended up being between the MR2 Spyder (no luggage space at all), the Miata MX5 (great car but my wife said it was a bit girly!) and the Audi TT roadster (I wanted RWD though).

I also considered the Boxster S and the (S54) M Roadster but again they cost more than I wanted to spend...

Congratulations!!! Great car. . . I was in the market for one about 1/2 year ago, and came very very close to buying one. My only compliant, the lack of torque for daily driving.

But man, if you drove it like you stole it, it is a BLAST!!!

I definitely like this model more than the newer "detuned" ones ;) .

Congratulations again, post more pics!!!

The biggest problem I had w/ the M Roadster was the lack of rear glass window. That was a must have. As far as the Boxster S, it a premium and personally I was afraid of the maintenance. Also, you'll always have to explain why you did not get a real Porsche ;) .

Awesome car T/A. I love the choice of paint - shows the lines of the car very well.

I drove an S2K about 4 years back and thought it had the second best gearbox I've ever experienced (the best was an NSX). Snick snick heaven. Funnily enough in my short drive I didnt really notice the lack of torque. Sure it didnt have the low down pull of my S4 but I thought it was great. It does get a bit loud though at highish cruising speeds. :)

Enjoy it...

I have been spoiled by the Saab turbo (mucho torque) in that respect!

I am getting used to it though, and it really isn't that bad, I mean it is a light car and quite low geared really, it is happy from 2700rpm upwards and pulls ok.

Thanks everyone for your kind words!

Goodduck, what do you mean when you say you were waiting for this topic? Did my new sig give it away?

Also saw some classic cars and hot rods on the way home. Will make a separate thread for those. A few people at the hot rod show were very complimentary about the S2000, and this lad shouted 'give it some VTEC!' as we drove off. :D

Which of course I did

Congrats mate - nice choice of car!! The colour is perfect for it, not as 'in your face' as some of the flashy ones you can get. :D

I have always like the dash display on the S2000's, not sure why but it just looks cool.

Hope you and your car have a happy future together. :P

Aye...

My CRX VTEC was stock except for a scorpion straight through pipe which was fitted in place of the catalytic converter. It absolutely amazing from 6-8k RPM! I don't think you can get away with no cat these days though; the CRX was pre-1993 so it was legal (in the UK).

Stick that vid on putfile and post the link up here, I am interested to hear this S2000 you are on about...

ah,illegal to have no cat now,get stopped and found with no cat and its £960 fine....not a small ammount.coz at the time of me getting my exhaust iw as going to get a 4-2-1 manifold aswell with a de-cat pipe, but after hearing the fine i simply said "fuck that" and didnt bother getting one as the sports cat cost almost as much as the manifold.lol

im off to bed right now but im getting up at 6am to watch the F1 so if you want toadd me to MSN mate feel free and ill send that vid to you then.if not ill sort sumthin else out.

ah,illegal to have no cat now.

Any pre-1993 does not have to have a cat in the UK... Then (1999 was when I had my CRX), now, and forever!

Same with seatbelts and a whole multitude of other stuff (if the car was made before something became mandatory, then you don't need to retrofit it)

Congrats on the S2000, TransAm!

I can't comment on what it's like to drive, but I read enough positive reviews about it. I sat in one though, and it has that great feeling of being cocooned. Great looks as well!

Congrats with your S2000. I like the colour. Not too flashy but still special looking.

Don't you fancy some other rims? That's about the only thing I don't like about this car ;)

^ Yeah, the 16 inchers. . . the new ones have the 17", but those are expensive and are prone to theft, at least in California. My friend's S2000 had his 2005 rims stolen twice!

I really like them, very easy to clean as well  As for the colour, the UK (and maybe Europe?) get a lovely lovely dark metallic blue, I think it is called Monte Carlo blue. That would be my only preference over the Suzuka blue which I have. I had a choice between red, silver, dark silver and black. I also quite like the white and tan combo for the S2000, but white isn't a colour I would choose on most cars. Maybe it is because it is the classic 'Type R' Honda colour...

I wouldn't change the 'stock' look of my car, I think she looks great just as she is...

I toyed with the idea of changing the Honda badges to chrome on red, like you see on type Rs, but no, I will leave it I think.

This is going to sound a bit sad, but I wouldn't mind a chrome VTEC emblem for the trunk. I hear it adds over 20hp

@ Arman - thanks dude!
