Ok so this is a question, well a 'detail' I have always wondered about the "I just came across a boatload of cash and now I can buy a ton of supercars, I am the happiest mutherfucker in the world!"
This is in reference to insurance.... would a person (lets use me as example) who is 23 one speeding ticket even be able to insure a fleet of supercars (lets say Maserati Quattroporte, Ferrari 430, Lambo Murci, Ferrari 612, the list goes on but lets keep it simple)? what does everyone think... does anyone know real life examples of young ppl who are insured, independant (this is key) of their parents and driving exotics? I know this would depend on location, garaaged or not garaged, but does anyone have a ballpark figure? cause I have no idea, and what would be the rough % of brokers who would laugh in your face?

Just for fun, i think its cool to dream and speculate, but still be rational and use common sense.....

Ultimately, I am asking:
"can a young person (under 25) get insurance or high end exotic cars over 100K, and buy alot of them? or would it cost in excess of a million bucks and just make no sense at all?

at some point of wealth i think you can get a statement that says you don't need insurance since you have a shit load of money to cover it anyway.

But if you have the cash, i don't think they care.

Ok well lets say in this case the money came from a lottery and it was 10 million... that would mean you have limited funds in which to spend.....so there comes a time when you have to say, whoa I cant afford to pay that much in insurance....

and would anyone care to speculate what it might cost to insure a fleet of over 5 exotics for a young guy/girl? would there be say, a group discount!

well, with multi-exotic owners ive met;
a dealer licence is obtained, and whatever car the dealer plate is on, the car is insured. it is cheaper after X cars are owned; on top of storage insurance. this is ultimately much cheaper then insuring each car as if they are driven all the time.

still expensive as hell; but i dont know an exact number

you'd get the multi car discount for sure :D

but those bitches are worse drivers than we are and still pay less for nsurance so obviously it'd be easier for them to get the cars insured than us :?

winning 10 mil after taxes and the annual pay out, i think you would still end up having to insure the cars, but doesn't Ferrari have an in house insurance company anyway? or is that just a myth? I can't imagine what it would cost to insure those things anyway

Fuck insurance! I wouldn't get insurance if I were a multi-millionaire (or billionaire).

The best thing to do is give an insurance broker a call and ask. What do you have to lose?

EDIT: Here is the quote I got for my 2004 Ferrari Enzo.

well, it's still expensive as hell!

If you only have 10 mill, and have to pay that every year for 5 cars, then you would be broke in some many years... I would've just gone for one car which I could learn to master... :D

It would be very very expensive. And then there would be storage costs; you can't just park them on the street.

I know that even the big J has a fairly hefty insurance bill and that is for being over 30. I am sure in the UK if you find the right company you can get insured. There are enough 19 year old footballers driving around in 360s. They will be getting ripped off though, the insurance company can pretty much ask for any amount they want.

well I would hope you would be able to make some money on that 10 million you won.... at least simple interest, but investing in other profitablle ventures would be a must... and if you had 10 million you would seriously only buy 1 exotic!?! are you mad sir!?!?
