seems like the rear limited slip wasnt working correctly or just wasnt there... a lot of weight on the rear end too would make it kinda hard to whip it around like that.. i say this kid deserved it
Well - it was all going well until he tried ti show off and scare the other car ;)
It was also bound to happen... hehehe :P
As his mate said "Oh well - that's what happens hey... " :P

Is it hard to convert the WRX to be rwd? And why to do so?
A guy is learning to drift and doesn't yet handle it perfectly.
No, only takes about 30mins to make it RWD.
Why, same reason ppl modify cars or rice them or paint them another colour :P
He was being an ass with cars nearby, suxed in to the dude hahaha.

The engine also seems to be very peaky and not able to generate a flat peak for it to hang in drift.

He consistantly stayed on the gas longer than he should have for some reason, i guess trying to get a lot of smoke going, but in the long run i blame the tail lights. :D

the rex isnt that bad lookin the tails really dokill it, hey but still gotta give tehm credit for finding a somewhat isolated place to try this. On the technique i will agree that probably to many drifitng videos and not the bible, that car should be capable to drift with the right suspension set up the engine though did seem to peeky maybe type of turbo set up he had on it and maybe due to him flating it out. BUt in the end eh thats what happens.

Canterbury News Release 3:01pm 19 October 2005
A 21 year old Christchurch man appeared in court this afternoon charged with reckless driving - all because he posted pictures of himself driving recklessly on the internet.
Christchurch Police received numerous complaints from New Zealand and overseas when the pictures of the driver and vehicle performing by racer type offending on a public street, appeared on a web page, says Inspector Derek Erasmus.
"As a result we made inquiries into the incident," he says. "Members of the public recognised the street and police were able to track down the owner of the car through the registration seen on the internet and identified the driver through analysis of the film on the internet."
The video showed burnt outs and loss of traction, spinning and all sorts of behaviour that was of danger to other road users. It ended with the vehicle crashing on the side of the road.
"Other cars could be seen passing by," says Derek Erasmus. "He was the author of his own demise. If you perform a criminal act, we shall pursue you."
NB'
He pleased guilty at first appearance and was disqualified from driving for 9 months, and received 120 hours community work.
