1/10

The motoring show returns with an extended one-hour format.
There's a test-drive for the new Aston Martin V8 Vantage, a Porsche takes on a Lotus on the racetrack, and Jason Plato finds out at first hand whether racing drivers make good fighter pilots.
With Tiff Needell, Vicki Butler-Henderson and Tom Ford.

Sounds like an awesome start to the season to me :D :D Good news for you hairy man lovers to, according to the radio times tom ford does feature :P

sounds great!

I can't wait to see this.

The new longer format was really needed.

And I hope they leave out all the crap that founf it's way on to the show last year....

Wow...probably the very first V8 Vantage review on TV, hope they gave Tiff that job. Is sounds like a good start to the season (no sign of crash tests), let's hope it will stay that way.

I sure hope that they give Tiff the job.. By the way anybody read what JC said about the AMV8.. He said something along line that it is a very very loud car..

Really a good start. And it gets even better.

2/10

Tiff Needell drives a Williams Formula 1 Grand Prix car; Jason Plato gets a world's first test-drive in the £380,000 Pagani Zonda F; Jon Bentley investigates killer signposts; Vicki Butler-Henderson races a classic Evo 6 against the very latest Evo 9; and Tom Ford hunts 4x4-hater Ken Livingstone in the new Lexus Hybrid off-roader.

apart from the Jon bentley bit, but we can fast forward through that :P sounds like they are trying to be more like top gear, lots of fun sounding features :D

Sounds like this is gunna be a good season if they carry on like they start. But whats this killer signpost thing by jon bentley.
I think the Evo6 versing the evo9 will be a good show. I might have to record 5th this season.

Lol and as Im writing this, I see the gay boy number plate on the lambo murci in dan's sig.

Sounds like a good show, but i wasn't that big a fan of the last series... about 23mins of show split into 5mins track action, 10mins talking/driving slowly and 8mins yapping on about competitons or featuring Jon Bentley

Fingers crossed eh?? The Vantage feature had better be good

really happy they have an hour slot.. last season just wasnt enough!

i'd rather see car testing experiements than JC, Hamster and that other dude bitch about which car is "coolest"

plus Tiff is the man! i'm already eager to see the 2nd episode

im almost 100% sure that Tiff will be testing the Aston v8 vantage, since he loves porsches, and it is aiming right for that marque

thanks for the updates on show content, and apart from the bit on 'killer signposts' (WTF?) it looks like a couple great episodes

[mabey with more time, there is less money|read none| used for competitions]

Not that i will watch the sign post feature, but i'm guessing its the way that roadsigns are so unforgiving if you crah into one, much like lamp posts

well i'm willing to bet that they make a fair bit from each contest so i doubt they will go, still if they use it for cool features i won't complain about a few mins per ep being used for that

Sounds great, apart from the killer signpost. Didn't we had a killer lamp post feature in the last series? What's next? Killer traffic lights, killer trees, killer curbs?

That sounds like a page off Jeremy's "to-do" list!

Glad to see Tiff and co. back back with the extended format. Hopefully they won't spend more time on the competitions 0X

Nice new titles, and now they have a HQ......... ooooooooh not quite like Top Gear though.

LOL tiff stole a Jeremy catchphrase "flappy paddles", good to see him doing the AMV8 Though AWESOME STUFF so far :D :D :D Damn those pesky advert breaks after 7 mins!!!! WTF its usually atleast double that!!

Nice new tities

implants? :P
really looking forward to watching this in a few hours!

as far as 'flappy paddles' its a catch phrase Jezza made that has crossed continents! people who have never watched TG are calling them flappy paddles! how cool is that? and Tiff is just using the now common lingo to more easily describe an 'electrohydrolically actuated sequential manuel gearbox'

flappy paddles, or that... hmm

The Aston test has been only 5-6 minutes long :?: :?: , they used to do longer tests of some special cars such as the SLR or the Bentley Continental GT

Not a bad episode. Would have liked a longer Aston martin review. Tiff's little dig at topgears test track was funny, and I like the new studio thing they have. And the new leader board beats topgears hehe Not a bad show all in all. Still not topgear tho.

Have to say i wasn't keen on the new formats location, the format was ok, linked together better than previously IMO. AS for the features, AMV8 stands out of course, others were a bit pointless apart from the shootout, but still a nice start really. The leader board was to flash for my liking and tiff couldn't even work it :P. IMO just move to a proper studio without awkward looking supposed office workers in the background, doesn't look very professional/ slick.

Nice ep, I liked it very much. Great cars and also the longer format, bit of Tg feel in it.
