With mild shame and absolutely no evidence by means of photo or video I offer you this tale. It happened today, no BS.

Noticed what looked to be a Golf R32 approaching through traffic behind at a pace. He comes up next to me at a red light. This is out of town by the way on a 3lane in 55mph limit. I dont look over, but floor it in sport mode away from the lights, 3/4 throttle til it clicked into 2nd, then foot to the floor up thru 2nd. I let off at 85mph and he hadnt lost or gained on me. Are those things 4wd? I think I took him by surprise off the line as you dont expect a Saab to race you if you drive a R32 surely? Away if it is 4wd he must have had traction advantage to catch up once he saw me go.

I was just going for it, expecting him to fly past me, got to 30mph and he wasnt pulling, go to 50mph he was about the same place again, a few feet behind me, and the same at 70, and when I let off at 90. Either he wasnt trying 100% or my car is as quick as an R32?

So there you but a 'max acceleration away from the lights' thing is all it was, he was up for it and wasnt being a loon about it, it was all in good jest, thumbs up to each other as we slowed afterwards.

Which was nice.

i raced a black SRT-10 tonight, since i have 4wd, i had him on traction... so i had him for 1/15th of a second, then i looked back, and i was still ahead; then i saw he was no longer back there, but he was ahead of my 10s car

no really, i had him for a split second :wink:

damn that black viper looked great at night 8)

one time, I had a corvette match my pace at 60 in a 45... he was staying right in my blind spot, so I gave it a little just to pull ahead, so he wasnt there, and he accelerated a little too, then I accelerated up to 75, as did he, then I took off, and looked in the sidemirror just to see him smoke his damn tires behind me, then he flew past me while I heard a sssssssssss at well over 120... we caught back up to traffic again, so I caught up to him close enough to read 427TT on his license plate.... he broke the wheels loose again for good measure getting a piece of rubber stuck to my face shield. it was all in good fun. <never will I challenge a vette again>

I raced an Enzo today and got blown away.....can't understand why as I have a whole 180hp. :?

Damn those Enzo's are sleepers.....I never expected it to be so faaassst!

I was rollin' 'round town in ma Civic and bro, my ride was tight tonight, I gots the new spark plugs installed and the gas response was just tight yo.

So Im rollin' around in 1st at 6000rpm and dis foo in a bimmer rolls ova, I gives him da look and drop a gear to netral, double clutch into first yo and my tires spinin' mad...

So I smoke the maphacka, he was so scrruuured he didnt even race yo, he just BACKED the fuck off and took the side street.....BRA BRA BRA
