Any one playing it yet?

I am 4 performance car levels from the the end... and still no Nurburgring... I am guessing it is the last track... Grrrrr :?

I am currently working my through the Grand Touring sec- for sure the cars are depicted with the handleling and feeling the popular press would have you believe vs reality - but it is a fun game :)

I have broadband and that free offer, but sadly my xbox is kind of fritzing which doesn't mean I can't play the game, but it is too sketchy to waste my two months right now.

I'm in American muscle and it is not incredibly tough, but the cars just really annoy me. Everything is incredible understeer except the old corvette which does that until it moves to unbelievable oversteer.

Not a complaint about game physics just the crappy cars. I'm looking forward to the next level though.

I have driven the Enzo at the test track and it is really really fast, but you don't really get a since of its handling because the turns are all really long and fast so you have to get off the throttle a little, but that is only because it is going so fast.

Other cars I found impressive were the Carrera GT because it handles just about as well, but it slightly less acceleratively impressive so turning just feels easier. It is less work and probably a little easier at the beginning. The Zonda also is great.

I hear the GT1 is a match for the Enzo, but don't have it yet.

I almost bought it the other day, I almost bought it earlier today, and I think I might break down and buy it tomorrow...er (looks at clock) Today!

RC45, from what I'm told, you can unlock it two ways. Buy the Koenigsegg or get first place at an online race at Nurburgring. So, if you use Xbox Live, Xbconnect or the gamespy thing, I'm sure you can find someone that'll throw the race if you really want it. I suppose gettting it the legit way is a bit more satisfying though.

I really really want it! That sucky thing is I can't race online with it either. Stupid cable company! (yes, I'm still complaining about it!)

The North Loop here we come!!!!!!

I have done the first leg of the Nurburgring.... :D

Thankfully I have driven about 45 laps at the "virtual" 'Ring in a number of games... it was nice a familiar.

The track is very well rendered - complete with all the 'Ring visitors graffiti and all.. :)

The 'Ring is available after you complete Grand Touring (which BTW is easiest done with the 575M)

Anyway - back to the North Loop I go... :)

Not a complaint about game physics just the crappy cars. I'm looking forward to the next level though.

It's just being realistic lol. What do you expect from muscle cars? To corner like Ferraris? LMFAO :)

Actually the physics model is noticably tweaked to match "popular opinion" of how the cars should feel.

How else could the SL55 end up ranking with and handling as well as the Ferrar 575M... LOL ;)

So far the cars appear to be set up properly in terms of each other. The Sl55 seems a little odd, but most everything else is pretty close. Except the sliding of the Skyline and rx-7 should be switched with still maybe a little toning down on the sliding.

No two ways about it, this is an arcade game - hope no-one is thinking it's a driving simulator... ;)

The bad news about the Nordschleife - is that it ooks like the only way you get to drive it in it's entirety is as the very last race in the very last class series.

Completed Track Specials, and really enjoyed the stretches of the North Loop that were part of it - but now it looks like Extreme is all in-city races (which I don't really enjoy) - with the Ultimate series being the next time you get to run the 'Ring again.

The Nurburgring is why I bought the game.. ;)

ive been playing for a little while now. i stumbled across a copy when i went with a friend to get the new Prince of Persia. when i got home i noticed a big sitcker on the top that said "dont sell until the 18th," but it was only the 13th.

ive beaten all the single player stuff mostly on silvers and got all cars except the TVR Speed 12 and the CLK-GTR. the GT1 sounds insane, lots of turbo noise. im waiting on the downloadable cars, whatever those will be.

the cars sound pretty good. you can tell they put a lot more effort into this one. you can rev up the engine and make it backfire, mostly just on fast cars, but you get a little flame out of the tail pipe. the retractable spoilers work on the Enzo and the Carrera. theres a lot of really nice cars in the game and some nice tracks.

Now that I have finished PGR2 I can provide a better review.

A little explanation may be in order.

The game is visually stunning - and being the first console with the modern Nordschleife was a must have for.

The last 3 level of Kudo World Challenge are pretty much a frenzy of smashing your way to the front and frantically trying to stay there.

The AI is the most atrocious of any driving game I have ever played. The game seems to be populated my 13 year old punks instead of a decent competitive driving AI.

The computer drivers will ALWAY leave the racing line to side-swipe you if you try pass, ram you if you are in front of them - or slam on the brakes at 180mph as you try slipstream past on the 'Ring.

Very bad. For those of us that are used to mature driving interfaces - this is a huge let down.

The only track I am bothering with, now that they are all unlocked - is the 'Ring - and although I can redo it to get a better time - you can't save non-career mode replays. I would like to enjoy the visual fest that this game provides - so I can watch my Yellow M3 lapping Nurburgring :)

I guess the last fast-lap is saved as a ghost, but I have yet to find a way to load it up to watch.

There is only one competitive race on the Nordschleife, and it is with the Extreme Cars - which is pretty much a mad 200mph dash by 7 enemies hell-bent on ramming you off the track. Not my idea of fun.

I may end up trying the XBox Live piece to see how good that is.

All in all a fun 20 odd hours to finish the game, but I cannot wait for GT4.

p.s. I have 420,000 Kudo's and only 34 Kudo Tokens left - so I can't even buy all the remaining cars :) Fuck replaying to score platinum to unlock the TVR to race it at the 'Ring - I am gonna use Action Replay to open up the last few cars.

I don't think there will be any Lambo's in GT4.

I just started playing PGR2, it's pretty damn fun. Like RC45 says, the AI cars are pretty damn stupid. They stick to their line and will shove you ass all over if you get in their way.

RC45, you know PGR2 came with a 2 month trial of Xbox Live right? I'm told the online play is a blast with mature racers. Go to the same site I already posted (granturismo.com) they have a bunch of people I'm sure would be a blast to run with.

You won't buy a game based one persons review? Take a look at all the game sites, all of them gave it a damn good review.
Personally, I love it. it's a ton of fun. The AI can be stupid but it's easy to work around them. Once you get an idea of what it is they'll do, it's pretty easy to pass them.
The graphics are nothing short of fantastic. All the cars look great as do all the cities and track surfaces. Some of the cars can be a hadnfull to handle, but thats to be expected. You can't expect to hop into a supercar and be able to toss it around without a problem.

The physics are spot on for this type of game. It's not a sim like GT4, it's an arcade game. The physics have just enough realism to make it a blast to drive all the cars. no matter how mundane or exciting. So far, my favorite car has to be the 360 Stradale. It's very tossable.

The sounds are a bit wierd at times. Certain cars sound awesome, most of the Ferrari's all sound great. but a few of the cars make almost no sound. One car that caught me off gaurd was the TVR Tamora. As most know, TVR's haveincredibly awesome sounding exhaust notes. In the game, it was damn near silent.

I'm almost done with the Arcade section of them game. I've only got the cone challenges left. I have yet to secre my self a platinum madeal, I've got only a mix of silver and gold.
Metropolis Street Racer back on the Dreamcast was a blast, then PGR1 came out on the Xbox. Now PGR2 has topped them all. This game rules!

I returned the first XBox I bought the same day as PGR1 was a bit of a let down. (I was coming off a GT3 high - and the lack of a decent wheel did it for me - I still find it clumsy with no wheel for the XBox - but they all seem to be crap)

I ended up buying an XBox again to play SegaGT 2002, a couple other arcade games (Surfing and a couple others) - no doubt the XBox will never have a true driving simulator as long as there is a "boycott" of proper force feed back steering wheels for the XBox.

PGR2 has a place as a fun Arcade game - nothing else - so if you go in with your eyes open you will get no surprises :)

i am up to super car, got the game last night. I have my very own 360 and i am loving it. The best bit about this game is live. I just play for 3 hours with 8 people around heaps of different tracks with heaps of different cars.

i just went on the showroom mode were u can look at every car and its just unbeleivable and there is quite a nice collection altogether,i know there are the best cars in world in there like the enzo,zonda etc etc,but im lookin forward to driving the 360 stradale,the 993 GT2 and the 996 GT3

dude i thought that was good too, then i realised you could test them all, walk up to them and press A to test drive. You can only drive them around the test circut but its still good fun. My best time around the test track is 82.822secs.in the enzo. i beat teh time of 53 by the Koenigsegg

yeah i realised u could test them,but i am holding myself back from testin them all so i get to see the different cars later in the game,but last night i failed..........just b4 i was turnin it off to go to sleep,the 360 stradale called out my name and asked me to drive it around the test track,a few laps and 174mph later........oh and a couple doughnuts with it,i went to bed :mrgreen:

Question: How come the TVR Speed 12 is faster than the CLK-GTR? I mean...what the?? Isn't that totally unbalanced? I would assume that the CLK-GTR comes first, Porsche GT-1 second, TVR Speed 12 third, and the Ferrari 250 GTO in fourth. *this is for the uber cars*

The CLK and GT1 are road car versions of race cars. Very fast, but still not quite up to the pace of the Cerbera speed 12.

On a track I don't know since there are very few sped 12s out there.

For me there is no fun in doing the same race over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again as the badly programmed AI punts you into the first turn while you try take and keep to a clean racing line.

So finishing with all silver or average bronze and then unlocking other stuff is not cheating. ;)

Since the Action Replay is simply a way to upload a saved game to XBox from a download on your PC - it's not actually cheating - you are simply getting someone elses saved game.

And anyone who says they had fun beating the entire game on Platinum just to get the Speed 12 is a bald faced liar... :D and probably unemployed because it takes hours repeatedly attacking the Nordschleife over and aver again ;)

I should get that XBox live thing cranked up so I can try some real people... ;)

Prince of Persia was great, kind of short but a lot of fun. You can run along walls, swing from ropes, climb all sorts of shit and you get to grab a lot of poles LOL. its a fun game. the levels look really good, the control is really easy to get used too and being able to rewind time in this kind of game is fantastic. The fighting is also pretty good, lots of multi-person bashing.

Cho, if you've only managed 82 seconds around the test track in the Enzo, you have some practicing to do! I did it with the Enzo in 50 seconds!

I've completed the Arcade section with nothing below Silver. I didn't manage any platinums though, just a mix of silver and gold.
I started the World Series mode the other day, I've managed a bunch of platinum medals on it. I guess it's easier in World Series mode.
I think my Kudos rank is 27 or something , I forget. All I know is this game is a blast! I still have a pile of Kudos Tokens, I've only bought a few cars.

Nope, I've tried calling them but it isn't getting my anywhere. It's wierd, they cut off my cable internet but not the cable TV. The cool thing is I haven't revieved a bill for anything since it happened. I guess Im getting free cable TV untill it's all sorted out. Which is hopefully soon, I'm tried of waiting hours for shit to finish downloading. That and I want to play online with my Xbox.

As for PGR2, I'm up to the SUV part of the World Series. I haven't had much time to play, hopefully soon I can actually sit down and play it. I've been so busy lately, it just blows. I spend as much time as I can online, but lately, shits all fucked up for me. I HAVE to find a new job, but that isn't going to well.

Just finished the game! although most on bronze, i have 52 tokens spare and i am going to do it harder in a moment. 666fast you need your cable! It is so much better with live! When ever you post a fast lap time it posts it on a leaderboard and there is space for 30 downloadable cars! mutiplayer is unreal with hardly any lag and vocie is crystal like normal.

I went for a little marathon of gaming today! I played PGR2 for about 4 hours straight! LOL I didn't get as far as I thought I would, I didn't notice that the further you got, the more races you had to do within each series.
I'm halfway done with the American Muscle series, which is pretty fun. The Stingray Vette will drift for days!
I was gonna sign on and see if gis was on to chat, but I got hooked on the game! LOL
This game is so much fun, I simply don't want it to end! They should have made the World Series part of the game twice as long as it is! Give it some more longevity. I'm sure once I have the Nurburgring, I won't stop playing it however.

you guys are right... the absolute last track is the ring...but its been cut down from the real thing... last time i checked waste the lap record something like 6min 49 sec. I did it in an enzo in something like 4 min and some odd secs...

The best version of that track is still Grand Prix Legends. This one is cool...but still falls short of what i was hoping for..

That said... if anyone up for a race and a good time there.. look for biff19_a and we can race..4 mins of the ring is better than no ring at all

I actually think the ring is pretty complete. Most of the higher level cars are too quick on it, but I put that down to the game itself. The cars are too fast in comparison to their actual abilities.

Also 4 minutes is impossible. The lap record in a Cerbera speed 12 for bizarre is like 6:14, my best in an Enzo is 6:33. I'm not saying it can't be beaten, but 4 minutes is way way off. You couldn't have done anything under 6 for absolute sure.
