If I had a buyer lined up for my M5, I'd sell it to get me part-way to this car:

1993 Black on Black RSA, Fikse 18" forged wheels, B&B exhaust, Autothority Air Mass Flow Sensor, Eibach springs, Big Red Front calipers, 68K miles, A/C, sunroof, never tracked or abused, CD player, third owner, new clutch, new rear tires, hate to sell- great car, same owner since 2000. $36,500 VIN # WPOAB2963PS418164
#164 of 701 total built

It's the 3.3 or the 3.6 version?

I didn't know the RSA came in a 3.3L? From what I can tell, the 964 RSA was built from 1992-1993 and is a 3.6L:

In any case though, I would still love to own that car. Porsches are so abundant that having something like that would be really special...

how much would you part with the ///M for?

Probably about $24-25k or thereabouts. This mileage is worth about $20-23k without the extras. There's a lot of cars listed for less, but it's so true about this particular car, you get what you pay for...

1991 E34 Dinan M5
71,XXX miles
Dinan chip
Dinan Stage III suspension (adjustable anti-roll bars, uprated bushings, springs, Koni adjustable shocks, camber plates, SLS (Self Leveling Suspension) delete)
Dinan cam gears
Dinan short shifter (not yet installed)
E38 staggered M Parallel wheels in black chrome
Pirelli P Zero tires
Ireland Engineering shock tower bar
Mobil 1 oil every time
Redline tranny and diff fluid
ATE Super Blue brake fluid
New tranny ($3k) just before I bought the car at 55k miles
New clutch at that same time
New brakes at that same time
US Ellipsoid headlight upgrades
US Ellipsoid foglight upgrades
Bosch/Hella HID with 4k heat temp bulbs
StonGard protection to all front lights
car cover
nothing but love, never abused and paint that's soft like butter. :D

Stan I assume you have already gone thru this website: http://www.rsamerica.net/ - got lots of nice articles and a classified section as well.

I also like the RSA myself - supposed to be one of the best Porsches on a track but is considered a little hard-edged for day-to-day life. Bella machina

Yeah, I saw that website...it's funny how just changing the wheels out can make such a big difference in the way the car looks.

I'm not really into the Porsche chassis codes, but isn't this a 964, with the 930s being pre 1988?

never abused

So you've driven it hard everytime?

It's definately "exercised" regularly, but I don't think I abuse it. It doesn't bounce off the rev limiter, although it regularly sees the redline, fluids are changed regularly...scheduled maintenance is adhered to...I basically take car of it in a manner where, if I was looking for a car, I'd be satisfied with the same care in the car I wanted. Running a car to redline is fine...running it to 140mph is fine, but you better take care of the fluids, have it regularly inspected during maintenance and always always...wipe the bird shit off ASAP.

Yeah, RSA is RS America.

The euro versions are always better. I heard a lot of US guys "upgrade" to OEM euro spec for suspension...tad lower, but still a decent ride.

my cousin in London has a 964 RS, he was talking really badly about the RS America a few weeks ago....he said the version we got here was quite inferior actually.

you're probably right...a bunch of them have been modified here to imitate the euro spec... but in stock form, they were almost regular 964s with cosmetic changes and small "racing-like" changes......the euro RS is a proper sportscar, stripped and set-up right.

cheers!

The 964 RS is one of the rarest and most sought after Porsche (The 3.8 one) no wonder the America doesnt hold a candle to it. However the America is an awesome car and well worth the money at this price!
