Yes, it's definitely an extraordinary car to drive. BTW, I'm a software engineer for Honeywell Defense and Space Electronic Systems in case you were wondering how I paid for it.

Yea but they are not THAT expensive in the US , you can get a clean year 98 for 19000 dollars .
I was thinking in importing one , but taxes will elevate the price to 35 or more G´s

Thanks, I've been meaning to make a longer version with the help of some friends. But unfortunately, it's getting way too cold in the U.S. now to drive with the top down so it will have to wait until the spring time. PATo355, you can get great deals on used Boxsters. Just make sure you have a mechanic you can trust and who won't rip you off because maintenance is expensive (insurance is expensive too).

Now, of course this is my personal preference and opinion, but here goes since you asked:
The Lotus Elise wasn't here yet or else that would have been strongly considered. The stock brakes are unbelievable, once they fade, driving a few miles under normal braking conditions allows them to cool. Every time I have drifted the car (by accident as you should never try this on purpose on the roads) it has been amazingly easy to recover composure with a bit of opposite lock. The communication through the steering wheel and seat of your pants is perfect. It's not the fastest car in a straight line. There are cars that are lighter and handle better. But I can really use it as a daily driver. That's a prospect I suspect the Lotus Elise cannot live up to though I'd give it a try. The sound of the boxer engine is intoxicating, especially on a cold day where the engine has to warm up. It sounds like it has something stuck in its throat. After a really hard day at work, it's a car that cheers me up on the way home. When approaching the limits, they're clearly drawn. Once one of the ends breaks loose, it's not the end of the world.
On to another topic, I do like other drivetrains. My previous car was a 2001 Audi S4 six speed. Twin turbo AWD was definitely a blast in the wet/snow/ice. But that car had another purpose. It was luxurious yet quick in a straight line or sweeping turns.
Finally, the Boxster is one car in a list of cars I have in my mind that I want to drive in my lifetime. Here's a list of other future potentials:
Infiniti G35 Coupe, Infiniti GT-R (if it ever gets here), BMW M3 (six cylinder, not upcoming eight cylinder), Porsche 911 (six cylinder, not rumored eight cylinder), Lotus Elise, Ferrari 360, Subaru WRX STi, Mitsubishi Evolution, Honda S2000.
Wish me luck, it's kind of a long list but I'm only 25 so I'll get there (though I'll need the BIG promotion to get myself into the 911/360).
