nice pc, how much did that alienware set you back if you don't mind me asking?

I sort of regret getting the dumb Alienware. Ordered it from my country cuz I thought doing so ment me having it really fast. If I'd known that they would take so long to ship, I would have built it myself and probably get the pieces and put it up faster (and save a few bucks).

Alienware sent me an email with all the specs so here they are:

Thanx, gotta read some more of those.

Pretty bad lol... $3200 the Computer alone. Had to get Dell Monitor and Logitech Z-5500 speakers separate.

very nice, they seem to love the "high perfomance" formula :). I almost expected to see "Floppy Drive: High Perfomance 3.5" 1.44 MB Floppy Disk Drive - Black".

nice pc, but damn 3200 and thats not including the monitor or speakers. and man that tower is fucking huge, mine is big but isnt as big and i hate it, next one will be smaller.

now go get to your posting. :D

LOL yeah the darn tower doesnt fit completely on my furniture. There is a closing lid that I had to unscrew cuz the head sticks out. I rather it be big though cuz its more organized inside. I can reach things easier, and heat doesnt accumulate as easily inside.

About the posting, Im on my way with a lot of tabs opened in my browser lol. Putting those RAM into test.

welcome back

Yeah, the mouse is great. I didnt install the software, so the button that switches windows and the wheel button that drags pages left-right are not available. I wanted a smaller monitor, but this was the smallest monitor that had 1920x1200 (1600x1200 but in wide screen). I really need this resolution to fit more of an image while I photoshop stuff.

Lovely PC , now . how do the Logitech 5500 sound ? Im thinking to upgrade from my current Klipsch , dont know if it will be an upgrade , i want good bass and loud sound .

DeMoN

^ I really like the Logitech 5500. I read a PC Mag that the combo of Sound Blaster and these speakers were cool. Besides, if you go to www.logitech.com and look under 5.1, you will see there is a little thing for 5$ that converts your computer connectors to RCA to hookup ur PS2/XBOX etc to your speakers AND preserve the 5.1 sound. I tried this with GT4 and I can hear cars coming from the back =D.

Klipsch have some 5.1 that are supposed to be better than these for like 50$ more, but I went for these cuz of the features and the cool digital control.

Hey....thamar, I know u are using a raptor for ur boot drive.....how much difference that make?? 30%?? What about the heat level?

I am thinking of making an upgrade on my main computer.

*sorry for the off-topic reply*

Me no likes premade ;)

2 things I would've changed, 7800GT or GTX cards instead of the 6800, and a 74GB Raptor as a primairy disk ;)

Besides, what you do yourself you do better, me no likes premade industrial things...

I like doing it myself too, but I thought I'd get it faster. GTX was cheaper than my 6800ultra. I saw benchmarks, and my ultra is better than the GTX.

About the raptor... I'll buy one and put it as my primary master. I have to build a computer for my little brother, so Ill give him my 80gb one and Ill get myself a raptor. 10k rpm is cool!

looks like you're going to have to do a super-pi benchmark Demon

so the computer only cost 3200??? hmm... perhaps i need to build a new machine sometime soon; as mine is running since august of 2002, with a few upgrades since then (AMD xp 1900, 1gig ram, 6800 ultra, 600 gigs  )

Im so happy to be back, I've been loggin in JW like 4 times a day lol. I've missed ya guys.

A Raptor isn't a hot disk. In troughput they aren't that much faster then the rest, but in accestimes they are...

Demon, it's hard for me to believe a 6800ultra begin faster then the 7800gtx. Prove it to me and i'll be happy to believe it ;)

I wrote it wrong... I have a PAIR of 6800 which was more expensive than having one 7800gtx. A pair of 6800 SLI yields better results than one 7800 as SLI splits the screen and you get twice (almost) the FPS in a game (one vid card controls half, the other controls other half). SInce the GTX just came out, the pair would have costed me like 600$ more. Something I wasnt ready to do cuz I rather wait until the 7 series has some more month into them.

DeMoN how happy are you with your 24" Dell LCD? I'm thinking of picking one up to match with a 6800 GT
