I was wondering if it was possible to do a makeover of the regular E46 M3 into the CSL variant. Or do you need the chassis number? or is it even possible??
It will cost more than the true one IMO.. to find a garage able to make you a carbon roof like it should won't be easy.. then I?m sure you have to do the car's homologation again just for that... the other things won't be to complicated IMO, but the roof...

getting CF bits won't be hard. if they can do it for the GTR, i'm sure its possible for the M3. finding the person maybe hard. it depends

for the price you could get a normal M3 (in manual!!)
and put a supercharger on it, aswell as some air/exhaust modifications.. im sure that would be more that adaquite
To put a supercharger on it so it will last another 10'000 and then blow up? :D
And why to supercharge one of the best NA engines of the world...?

if u want the appearance to be a m3 csl
that is not hard
you could get the csl wheels
and also teh replica front spliter.. like 500 us
and the trunk, you could get it, if u search around
as the performance go... you can definity make it faster then m3 csl in a straight line...m3 csl is only a few ticks faster then standard m3
u could put 3.91 differential on ur stock m3, and some intake, some pully, exhaust, pipe, and eurobahn sofeware, and some coilover,,

..whoah...that sounds pretty complex! hahaha..forgive me if i sound ignorant, but what's a 3.91 differential...and the M3's not mine..it's my gf's. She just likes the looks of the CSL (myself included) hee will post some pics once her cars released from BMW Melbourne which should be sometime next week. Silver grey with Red nappa leather...i was drooling all over the car....

currently there are a few company doing supercharger for e46 M3,, but i am not sure about teh reliabliity..i personally dont think is a good idea...just sell the m3 and get a faster/better car with the money u going to spent on supercharger
as for the 3.91 differential... it helps you accerate faster.. probably around 0.3-0.4 faster on 0-60mph..... each gear will be shorter so the the top speed will be down abit,, but i am sure u can still get aroun 170mph for sure

it well cost you a lot money to turn your m3 into a m3csl
just the roof and the trunk well cost you the must
carbon fiber is very expansive and you are going to need a lot of it to turn your m3 to look like a m3csl
there isnt a lot of placies that would do it for you because they wouldnt have the tools to make it
i sow a carbon fiber body for a porsche 911 for about $40,000
so just guess how much it is going to cost you
