That's not ironic, that makes sense! I'd rather see Michelin stay. Who makes the space shuttle tyres, hmm? That's right, Michelin. What does Bridgestone do? Why, make prosthetic dolphin parts, of course.

ironically meaning that both of these teams had issues with the tires but it turned out to be the team's fault.

Yoda was running their pressures too low at indy to try and gain some grip, and Williams in Turkey had a problem with the tire rubbing on the bodywork of the car in the turns which ultimately caused their failure.

and now, despite Bridgestone's lackluster performance this year, both these teams think that they have a more reliable tire than michelin.

about the article that says Michelin will quit if "control tyre" rules or "one tyre brand" rules are introduced...doesn't that sound stupid? If Michelin says such things and if it seems like FIA will push control tyres then everybody will know Michelin will quit. if it quits, it'll go to brigestone. and even if it stays, when the control tyre rule comes people will remember this and choose bridgestone over it anyways. no?

well bridgestone and michelin arent the only tire manufactures dude. there are plenty of others and there are plenty that have been involved in F1.
here are a few that have been in F1 before ,dunlop, continental, goodyear there are more but i cant remember them at the moment.

So are you saying that FiA may choose a "third" tyre supplier for it's "control tyre" policy? I maybe misinterpreting this, but...

no, IMO FIA would choose bridgestone for the tyre control or having exclusive personnel to implement and follow that stupid rule of tyre control

toyota switch was expected after the disaster of the USGP. But it's well known almost all teams run on very low tyre pressures and that is a tyre-failure condition
also williams switch is reasonable. michelin didn't gave them the support for running tyres with...omg what a surprise... low pressures

they arn't switching, michelin is dropping teams, michelin wants out of motorsport I think, and using the FIA "new" rules as a way out.

no no thats not what i said. you said that Bridgestone would end up with the job of supplying F1 with tires is Michelin pulls out and all i meant was that there are many other tire companies that can come into F1 and do the job instead of Bridgestone. meaning that Bridgestone isnt the only tire company around, of course they will most def get the gig.

Well, the FIA has been trying to slow the cars down for last few years, Bridgestone just might be the way to do it :lol:
