the nano is great... iPod nano info (http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000153057792/) 3.5 x 1.6 x 0.27-inch device will feature 500 song/2GB and 1,000 song/4GB capacities, a 1.5-inch color display. weighs 1.5 ounces (42 grams), has a maximum of 14 hours battery life. $199 and $249 pricetag
and the Motorola ROKR iTunes phone (http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000513057777/) isn't that great. You could go better with a SE W800

You know after getting on for 4 years i might get a new phone IF they made a phone that looked like the nano, that other thing is a pile of shit. Surely they can tag a phone and aerial on without making it to big/ expensive. really that other thing is a pile of wank, 100 songs and it looks awful!.

the itunes phone really dissapointed me :|. You can load more songs to other mp3 mobiles with some memory card. Also looks awful and the design is just like any other motorola mobile.
now I'll try to save a few bucks to buy the nano if I don't buy a SE w800

I don't like it that much.. Can't see what all the fuzz is about, and wonder why everyone's always talking about iPod this iPod that... For the same prize you get a Creative Zen Sleek with 20 gigs, FM-Radio and Recorder... Okay, it's bigger, but it looks cooler too, cause wtf is up with that long-ass nano... It looks like they pressed Ctrl+T in Photoshop and transformed it into a unproposonized thing...
If I had to get a player with only 4 or 5 GB, I'd go for the m:robe..
Just what I feel about it...

I'd say buy the w800....it's much more useful....and it's really cool too...

Apple is going to come with their own phone in 6 month. It should have a better design than this ugly/comon Motorola.
Anyway 100 songs is so useless and will not replace your current mp3 player. :x
But yes the ipod nano is great. If it was flexible it would be even better (leave it in your back pocket without worrying of crashing it when you seat)

This is indeed surprising lots of praises for the iPod for once and only one complaint about the price. :)
If you go on froogle a 2GB CF card costs between $110-230. 2GB iPod nano is $199 (cheaper for those studying/teaching).
I'm really tempted to get one in black...
This is what the iPod Shuffle should've been in the first place.
The ROKR on the other hand is a purely Moto invention with iTunes snapped on. It neither has the screen size or color depth needed.
Actual photos of the nano vs other iPods can be seen here (http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/super-first-look-apple-computer-ipod-nano/)

and...do you have it?? :P
just read that the itunes phone is even shittier that I thought.
The phone comes with a 512MB memory, but the phone/itunes only allow you to put 100 songs no matter if you only used 400MB.
this phone will be a commercial success for 1 month and then flop
http://playlistmag.com/weblogs/todayatplaylist/2005/09/hiddengoodies/index.php?
The phone includes a removable 512MB Flash memory chip (found under the battery in the back of the phone). This chip will hold up to 100 tracks but the number of songs it holds isn’t dependant strictly on the size of the chip (though it obviously can’t contain more than 512MB of data). Rather, the 100 track limitation is part of a DRM scheme that prevents the phone from playing more than 100 tracks.
iTunes 5 keeps track of the number of tracks authorized for playback on the phone so even if your 100 tracks have used only 350MB of the card’s capacity, you can’t add more. Similarly, although you can swap in a new card that contains new tracks, those tracks won’t play until they’ve been approved for playback by iTunes.

i am very impressed with it.
but i know it's only 6 months before they announce a replacement for it's bigger brother.. and to draw buyers away from the awesome nano, im thinking it will have video or TV tuner support...
will be very interesting!

man this sucks Motorola is the exclusive supplier to Nextel why can't we get these kind of phones? I love my i710 (getting the i850 or i860 soon) but I would like to have more options all the phones are the same just different colors/options.
Oh I might consider getting the Nano if I had the disposable income ATM but it's all tied up in the car.
