Which WMV plugin are you using for Firefox? The WMP6.4 or WMP9/10? Also, there's an activeX plugin for FF which is known to be unstable. If you got that installed, it could be the problem. Many sites embed WMVs using the WMP ActiveX control.
There're many possible reasons, you need to provide a bit more info than just WMV streaming and FF
One probable reason (from FF plugins FAQ):
Why does Mozilla Firefox crash when I close it after using the Windows Media Player 9.0 plugin?
This is a known problem with the Windows Media Player plugin on some Windows 2000 systems. Workarounds include not using the Windows Media Player 9.0 Plugin, or using the Active X control as Netscape 7.1 does. Instructions for using the ActiveX plugin to only enable the Windows Media Player control may be provided in a seperate FAQ at a later date.

If it crashes IE too, looks like it's not a problem between Firefox and WMP. There's some problem with your WMP. What sort of error message do you get and what hardware setup you have?

it just says Mozilla Firefox is not responding. and what do you mean what hardware setup do you have? like what processor?
