Sprints on a dutch highway, supra mk3 3.0i turbo with a couple of mods, over 250bhp vs cbr600f with 100bhp, bike wins easy and is not exactly the newest model.

Not the newest bike, it's a 1993 cbr600f, but i'm satisfied with it. Want to do the test against the supra again on an empty road, from 160km/u in 4th gear, think the supra overtakes me when i'm at 235. The topspeed of the bike is 245 on the speedo, supra does 280+.

if its a 93 then it should be an f2..... the f or f1 was made 87-90 if I remember correcntly.

In the US they call it f2.. in europe they call the "f2" also "f".

The Supra is supposed to pull 280+kmh (175mph) from only 250bhp? At the wheels or crank?

But still - that speed sounds way too optomistic. ;)

He got about 230bhp on the rear wheels a while ago. A lot of modifications have been made so i suppose 250bhp now.

We got 275 on the speedo and had to brake for other traffic. Don't know what 280 on the speedo is in real km/u...

275 seems very optimistic for even a "supposed" 250rwhp... which is about 290bhp.

The car weighs about 3600lbs... :)

I am not doubting that a MKIII Supra could not go 280kmh... it's just that I am quite skeptical that with 290hp it would even get past 255kmh ;)

This is a run on a dynojet about a year ago, boost 0,6 bar, header, de-cat, 238rwhp... we got 275 on the speedo with this config.

After this run a boost controller and breather-filter have been added, runs 0,8 bar and should do about 250rwhp. Don't know what the real speed is, but 280 on the speedo can be reached without a doubt!

I am not doubting the power of the car.

I am doubting the "275 speedo" claim. I am sure you "think" you got to 275 on the speedo, and the error or paralax and the angle of view let you see 262 on the speedo as 275 ;)

I am just throwing the numbers into the air, and 238hp, 3600lb + driver + passenger just seems to not land on 275kmh. ;)

Surely y'all must realize if the car is showing 275kmh "on the speedo" there must either be some serious speddo error, or things just go faster through the air below sea level.. ;)

No wait - the air is denser below sea level, so shouldn't they go slower :P ;)

Either way - lets give you the 275 "on the speedo" and say a 10% error (not imposible for an older car - that's 275 - 27.5 = 247kmh ..... lets round that UP to 250kmh for the effect... ;)

This is far better than claiming ... "275kmh.... on the speedo... I think...." ;)

I just want to help you not sound like a poser or wannabe at the local pub next Friday night :D

Hehe, oke, i get your point.

If the supra was my car i started it up at sundaymorning 04.00 am and did the test with videocamera and gps meter.. but the friend who owns it isn't that crazy as me....
