It has a 17500rpm redline. Compression ratio of 12.8:1 and titanium valves.

and someone has forgotten to design half of the exhaust pipe!

I don't like these stubby pipes like the new R6 and the current Gixxer1000

looks like most manufacturers are going for the stubby pipes design for 06. The 2006 Gixxer 600/750 will have them as well.

they are nice but i have to agree the exhaust looks like shit that way personally I like how the Italians and a few Jap bikes are with the exhaust out the rear/center under the seat. And I always thought the Buells were cool with the exhaust on the underside of the bike and the rest of them for that matter being totally different from anyone else and they are belt driven rather than chain.

wow!

I bought bike mags for a couple of years ago and was into the design but dropped it for 2 years.

but look at them now! They look really raw and aggresive!

Ahhh, gimme the black one!

ahhh got to do something with that pipe, its hidious. I suppose first thing you do after you buy a bike is get a full system, or maybe a slip-on anyways... so that shouldnt be too much of a factor.

it looks best in black yes...im not into bikes but htis is a very good looking one, except for those exhaust pipes...and as said before, pipes that come out of the rear look best :D

Underseat pipes looks nice and has good aerodynamic properties ....... but it is not too practical as it generates too much heat for the pillion and rider and robs the horsepower.

This hurts a lot, i'm a huge gixxer fan and then i see this. I really need to see the new gixxers now, anyone know when we'll see the K6 pics?

here you go.... that's the 600/750 though. the 1000 may remain unchanged for 2006.

Thanks for the pic, and it bothers me because i was never fond of the suzuki liter bike's styling, but i actually like the exhaust on these knew bikes, very motogp.

I thought you were exaggerating until I saw this pic... 17500rpm, that's incredible!

Do you really need that kind of revving from a street bike ? :? :?
You`ll probably do engine rebuild after 4-5000 km with that rpm :?

Wow, and thats without kneumatic valves. It's a small engine, it'll last, but whats horsepower output? I hope it's at least doing 125-130hp with those extra revs.

Its probably 24,000 mi for the valve adjustment, and 8000 mi for oil change.

The story goes that it'll produce around 130hp. According to the Yamaha-website we'll have to wait until 28 September for more info...
