I went to the ring last weekend. Me and my friend went round the track... on a mountainbike, for a change. :D We didn't get all the way round, but we managed to take some nice pics. Check 'em out here:

The award for the most exclusive car that day (however not that rare on the ring) goes to an M1.

That Viper is there a lot lately. For about 250€ (I think) you can take place on the passenger seat for one lap. The ringtaxi is cheaper, and you can split the price by three (if you take two friends along).
how much is the ring taxi?

Really nice pics Draak666. On smallband it takes me forever to watch them, but I have allready saved a few to my HD and I'll check out the rest later one.
By the way, I suppose you took the car and put the mountenbikes on it? Or did you really biked all the way to the ring? in this weather that seems a bit far! By the way, is there a good mountenbike track round the whole ring or what?
thx for the nice pics!!!

Let's get this clear: we went by car. :D We're not that great athletes.
There's an official mountainbike track along the circuit, which we've tried a few weeks ago. But my friend wanted to ride the other way round this time because of a steep climb we've experienced that first time. He did not want to do that again. :( We also tried to stay as close to the track as possible, taking small paths and going straight through a valley. The problem though, was that we got lost now and halfway we decided to head straight back to start/finish because it was getting dark.
BTW: next week is the last week for tourist drives this year.
Very nice pics! I love also the one where the are a Noble GTO and a M3 CSL together at the Karusell (or is it the mini one?)

So how does the Ring work? Do you just pay a little money and take whatever motorized vehicle you have out there? How do they handle safety and what not? A track day here requires all kinds of safety checks. For Bikes, you have to remove the mirrors, tape off lights, etc. I always see videos of the Ring and wondered how it was handled. I would love to take my bike out there and give it a go.

It was at the Karusell, TT. Normally nobody's allowed to stand on the exterior so we had to duck behind the rails each time the Strecke Sicherung drove by. :D
@Minacious: basically you pay an amount for one tour, or more, or even for a whole year. There's a safety leaflet which is pretty usefull to read. You can drive almost anything, even a bus. Just make sure the exhaust isn't too loud (they sometimes check that).
Read all about it here: http://www.nurburgring.de/?rubrik=nordschleife&lang=eng

wow, awesome pics man! thanks a lot 8)
my parents want to arrange for my brother and I to go somewhere this summer as part of a celebration of me graduating from high school and my brother from college...so i'm thinking it would be awesome if we could pay the Nurburgring a visit, even if it means only sitting there taking pics and watching and listening to the cars. We'll see :D
thanx again man
