Ferrari want Raikkonen for when Schumi leaves so I dont know whats this is about. Comming from a non F1 source I call bullshit on that.

Its still too far ahead to predict whats going to happen - In fact I saw another article on F1-Live stating that Raikonnen pledges to remain with McLaren.

WE will know when that happens .. till then it is pure speculation :)

Räikkönen says that he is in the winning team where he know all the work mates, so why would he want to change the team.

^Let's hope they bounce back next year. However, I would predict if Mclaren doesn't win it this year, they have a very high chance next year. They seems to have a pace that no one knows where they to get from. If Ferrari were to catch them, they need to find 2 seconds in their car at least...and that's a biggggg gap. On the bright side, since the engine rule is changing again next year, I see their engines will blow up for a few races :mrgreen:

Schumacher will retire driving a Ferrari... that's for sure. However, going to Red Bull isn't that surreal... just remember what Damon Hill did in 1997 after winning the World Championship.... going to Arrows!!! :P

The reason Damon moved was:
a) Williams typically pays a pittance for their drivers because back in the day they believed that their cars were the best and the drivers were pretty insignificant. Damon's moved to Arrows involved a pay hike
b) The seeds of Damon's departure in 1997 were sown in 1995 when Williams believed that Damon was under-performing. Therefore at the beginning of 1996, Patrick and Frank decided not to renew his contract - they didnt change their mind even though He looked likely to clinch the championship.
c) Damon felt he could do a Michael by turning around an under-performing team

I think Michael will never get as cozy a position in any other team as he has now at Ferrari. I think he will gracefully retire at the end of the next season and chill out!

I think all this is just opportunistic journalism and possible machinations of Mr. Twenty percent leaving tasty rumours to the German media as part of his usual negotiation tactics :)

I think having Rossi replacing Schumie would be better for Ferrari then getting Kimi, I cant see Kimi moving to Ferrari and unless Mclaren dont something wrong will be there a very long time.

I would of liked to have seen Villi at Ferrari more to continue the legacy that his Father started but I dont think that will happen.

Thou Im a hardcore Schumie fan, I cant see him ever retiring till he is 50 haha :D

Michael Schumacher has drawn a line under the latest round of rumours about his future by declaring that he will decide next year whether or not to continue in Formula 1.

But the seven-time world champion did confirm that whenever he decides to compete in his final race it will be in a Ferrari.

"I don't see any point in getting too deep into this," Schumacher was quoted on Autosport's website as saying.

"I have told you (the media) very clearly what I am thinking.

"I have not made up my mind. I will make up my mind sometimes next year – and that is it."

Schumacher said that he is completely committed to the Ferrari team and claimed that he did not understand where the rumours of a switch to McLaren in 2007 had come from.

"I think it is pretty easy to understand," he said.

"My career is not very long, it is not like the next 10 years and I cannot imagine to drive for anybody else.

"I have been saying for many years I do not want to retire. Every year the media keeps asking me if I am going to retire. You know the business better than I do.

Schumacher confirmed that he did have two meetings with Mercedes chief Norbert Haug during the Turkish Grand Prix weekend.

But, he explained, this was nothing unusual.

"It is true I had a meeting with Norbert during the weekend but I have had many meetings (with him) over many years because we are friends," Schumacher said.

"We have chatted about many things, so why suddenly someone makes something out of it I really don't know.

Mercedes star Raikkonen, 25, recently denied a report in German newspaper Bild that he had signed a precontract to race for Ferrari in 2007.

It is still unclear whether Schumacher plans to continue racing in 2007 with his manager Willi Weber revealing a decision would not be made until early 2006.

"Michael will decide between March and April 2006 whether he will drive in 2007," Weber informed Bild daily.

Schumacher lies 40 points behind Spaniard Fernando Alonso in the world championship standings but insists he is not angling for a move from Ferrari when his contract expires in 2006.

"I want to state that I am still happy at Ferrari regardless of the results at the moment," Schumacher told his homepage www.michael-schumacher.rtl.de.

"I am also not thinking of leaving Ferrari and joining another team. To be honest I do not know how often I have said that but nothing changes."

Schumacher was recently linked with a move to McLaren - where he would link up with Raikkonen - after meeting with the team's sporting chief Norbert Haug.

McLaren star Kimi Raikkonen has dismissed a report claiming he has agreed to drive for Ferrari in 2007.

Germany's Bild newspaper claimed the Finn had signed a pre-contract agreement with Ferrari, with Michael Schumacher moving the other way.

But Raikkonen said: "As I have said on a number of occasions this season already when asked about the rumours, I am completely happy with my team."

McLaren and Ferrari also denied there was in anything in the report.

Citing a "completely secure source", Bild said that the first talks over Raikkonen took place last year with parties discussing an advance contract in February and March before agreeing terms in May.

Ferrari spokesman Luca Colajanni said: "We already have two drivers under contract for the 2006 season.

"It is too soon to start talking about the 2007 season. We have not made any commitments with anybody for 2007."

World champion Schumacher will be joined at Ferrari by Brazilian Felipe Massa next season after Rubens Barrichello departs to BAR.
