So the Xbox 360 is coming out in 3 months and PGR3 is already under development, though its not a realistic game, it for sure has one of the highest fun factor. The images look awesome and what is better new manufacturers coming - Lamborghini and McLaren !!- so i guess this is really good news.
The demo, according to IGN, was only using 60% of the 360's capabilities, so we can start guessing how te final product will look like.
Release date: Holiday 2005 !!!!!
So if MS already got the Lambo and Macca licenses can we expect this cars for Forza 2 ?!?!?! I hope so !!! :D

It looks good, but they have to work on more "real" looking lightining, it just doesnt look real, high details, but too glossy and shiny.

Looks insane! :shock: Bigger line-up of cars, graphics that are lifelike; it should be good! :P Just gotta go buy a 360 now.. :fadein:

yeah the gloss finish is exagerated, but listen to this, they use 40,000 polygons for the outside of the car and 40,000 for the inside, so that means nice looks for the inside, and more inside views for the replays :D

Who ever designs these cars is pathetic to have so many polys going sorry.
A good desginer can make a much better model with half the polys.
Anyone can make a a mega poly model, it takes skill to make one that looks like a 40 000 poly whilst its only 15 000.

that would be PGR3
global hemisphere changed the pics, they used to be of PGR3.
Instead of using the extra CPU power for better AI they are sticking eye candy on the game... how sad... :(
This XBox 360 better support current USB FF Wheels.

well RC it depends on which one you get from rumors I heard there will be 2 different 360's one that is alot cheaper that is not backwords compatable and the more expensive version which is. but like I said those are rumors.

Idiots man, idiots.
The thing is that they can keep this same eye candy by developing lower poly car models leaving enough CPU to process all the other important stuff.

I just watched those trailers and I have to say its less then what I expected.
As far as graphics go, farcry maxed out has a bigger "wow, look at that" effect
The reflections looks to cartoony aswel.

Well yeah... I have a 6800GT and yes Far Cry looks better of course! But that is apples and oranges. You have to compare PGR3 to other console games. And for that matter any racing games, because I can not think of any racing game currently on PC or anything else that look that good...
Far Cry and PGR3 are apples and oranges...

It is the best looking car game on any console I saw yes. Not taking away any credit. But seeing all those so called "screenshots" which apperantly are renders just I thought, I expected more.
How real something looks all depends on the lightning, and they got it all wrong in this game.
As for PC, Ill take some screenshots and Ill let you be the judge of lets say...hm GTL for eample. And just so you know, those arent screenshots on the first page of the thread, they are just some renders, because from the videos the game looks nothing like the pics.

GT Lelegends. Looks spectacular on my rig maxed out.
It doesnt have the PGR3 sparkly glow, but when your in the cockpit, it looks awesome.

Yeah it looks really cool... and I will downl..buy it as soon as it is out. My Asus 6800GT will be nice for it.
But, well it does not look nearly as cool as PGR3 looks. Sorry.
I'm all for “PC over console”. But I like games enough to know each platform will have its stars.

/\/\/\Just run the demo man, trust me, max it out. 4Xaa, 16AF, all things at max. The details are incredible. The details make this sim. The little tire smoke, exhaust smoke, and just so many little things.
It sure doesnt have the striking look of PGR3 I agree completly, but its much more subtle looking then PGR3.

but that also means someone who is very good with 15k polys can make something perfect with 40k.
xbox - polygon performance: 116.5M/s - Forza Motorsport - about 15k+ polgons
xbox 360 - polygon performance: 500M/s - PGR3 - 40k+ polygons
its not even using full graphics power.
xbox 360:
pixel fill rate: 16G/s
Shader Performance: 24G/s(128-bit)
what makes 40k better than 15k you say.
lets make a bottle with 10k polygons is looks kewl but its only a solid object, lets add 30k polygons now you have a bottle with a removable cap, insides and maybe even a liquid.

you can still do those same details with a 15k poly model.
what you do with the lighting/shading environment takes um a lot of the processing power, not to mention the physics engine, and AI engines running at the same time. having a well balanced approach seems much better idea to me.

about using half the power of the 360 i'm sure they won't have to change anything for anything else to make this game balanced at all, damn you guys are acting like they are using 100% of the power on the console. This is next-gen you can now have great lookings games with great AI and Physics but don't expect realistic AI or Physics in this game because its an Arcade game.

about the polyons again, so you want the game developers to take a step back and stay this gen or do you want them to make a game with unbelievable textures and models? If you want 15k stay on xbox if not stop talking down to the 360. 0X

Just played the game, lits really good IMO...
i could only play with the CS, as it was a demo, and the graphics werent too polished too, but this is gonna become better....
the thing i liked the most is that u have an ON BOARD CAMERA, really cool, finally a game where u see the hands and gauges and the inside of the car, definelty a must have if you like the series :D

yeah, still arcade...
there wasnt that much power sliding (which i guess will be more needed in the final version), and you had to do more breaking before the turn and stuff like that, but dont expect too much
