load the data applet you can view a fuck load of satellite, click on one you can view the orbit it is taking, you can load a menu and find a satellite, zoom in and out on the world, if you find a satellite over were you live you can click on it and see what orbit it is taking..

sadly i dont think you can view what the satellite is seeing...so yes indeed pretty useless. On a clear night if you live away from the city you can see satellites fly over sometimes, untill the sun is so far on the other side of the world that its light doesn't reflect on satellites anymore. also VERY useless :D
