yup. used to jump the old tercel all the time.
with a standard its best to pull in the clutch (sure you learn that after that one! lol) and to keep the speed up when you hit it.
seem you involuntary did exactly what was needed to leave terra firma.

yeah, thats pretty shocking when that happens. my front bumper is high enough so that doesnt happen, but still.......

F*cking speedbumps. Im glad your car wasnt damaged.
I had a pretty similar experience with an unpainted speed bump in the middle of the night not long ago. Slowed from 50mph to about 40 when i saw it, then flew over it in my Golf. The car landed on its nose and the engine cut off. I thought i'd really fucked the car up but one twist of the key and it fired up. No body damage either :D

Just another reason not cut the springs to lower your car, though i must admit i was caught out at uni a few months ago, usually i can take a speedbump at about 30-40 kph without any dramas. but when their short n high lil fuckers i swear the chassis clips them on the way down *shudder* the worst sound ever. those short ones you have to take a snails pace, even 10-20kph is too fast
