I've got a few, you car sounds nice Anile8er, do you plan on racing it? If you don't, you shouldn't have bought a Factory Team. Especially if you are gonna put all the hop ups parts on it! I made the same mistake with my T3.

no i m gonna get a team going with my friend, friend has rs4pro 2 hes got all carbon fiber, 6t - 12t motors, tekkin speed controler and shit , all the hop ups hes put 1000 in to it

whooaa, it's so great to know that there are so many (relatively speaking...) people in here who are into R/C!!

yea, that is one sweet car you got there, Anile8r...one thing tho: it's usually not an incredibly good idea when you're a n00b to get such a fast car. I've been into this hobby for a lil over 5 years and 2 cars now, and i've seen people start off with $1000 cars and just kill em, breakin em to bits causer they were inexperienced in driving r/cs and just couldnt handle the power. Now i'm not necessarily saying that's what's gonna happen to you, but it's just a suggestion.

i have quite a bit more to say  but i hafta go do work right now :?

for now,

Peace
Brian

lol trust me, that's what I was thinking when i was considering buying an NMT, but once i got it, it was soooooooo worth it.

yea, that's one of the advantages of electric...but they're just not as fun as nitros!

well, as for tips for n00bz, well be careful, cause with that motor, that thing will reeeaally move.

grr, just got kicked outta computer lab cause there's a class comin in :bad-words:

don't let the fact that you're a n00b stray you away from nitro r/c. If you're willing to pay a bit more for it, and if you're willing to make sure to put in that extra bit of care and attention into ur r/c nitro car or truck, go for it, and be careful and read the instructions CAREFULLY.

I highly recommend r/c nitro cars/trucks cause they're just so much fun! the noise, the speed, and realistic options, etc. etc.

if any of you are looking into getting a new r/c, or have any specific questions about em, PM me or go to the website i have in my sig (sorry, it's not a link). those forums are mainly for HPIs, but they have non-HPI sections so you can ask there if i dont know the answer 8)

one downside to nitro r/cs is that you can't run em indoors anywhere. on the other hand, they're much more reliably good in not-so-dry weather. For instance, I went snow sliding with my truck last winter and the winter before that, and both times i was able to get my truck completely covered in snow (of course the electronics were protected)...lol try doing that with an electric

heh, 1k into an electric is pretty significant...i've got 1300+ into my truck (initial cost of truck and radio, hop-ups, replacement parts, and fuel (to date 4 gallons @ $30 per gallon)) which is about average for someone who's fairly serious. If you wanna see someone who's got a LOT of money into his truck, go here (http://forums.rcinfo.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=564). it's my good friend who lives outside of Toronto who has put a couple thousand into his "truck" the thread's a tad bit long  so go to the last page and work your way back until you have an idea of what he's put into that thing...

if anyone knows anywhere where i can host a 30+meg file of me driving my truck around, could ya tell me? so i can show y'all what 1.25hp in a >5lb truck with on-road tires (middle pic in sig) can do 8)

P.S.: in case anyone didn't know, me referring to "nitro r/c" doesnt mean that the r/c has N2O lol, it's short for nitromethanol, one of the main combustible ingredients in the fuel they use. It's mainly alcohol, with synthetic castor blend oils, and nitromethanol (to help it explode  )

yah i know i have alot of power but i got 2 friends that have bin in it for about 5 years so there showing me how to drive it.

1.25 hp in a 5lb rc is very nice thooo i found a motor for my car that puts out 4 hp and is only 300 buks and i think my car only ways 3lb.

damn that car is insane! i was thinkinging about a motor in the bak and a motor in the front but i dont know how to get that working.

u have any idea if soloar panels or a alternator would be worth doing to make my car battery life last?

i've thought about that, and talked with several of my friends and my brother about it, and to make a short story long...: yes it can be done, and yea it would be awesome, but the weight of a solar panel big enough and powerful enough to actually charge the battery while you're using it would be so big that it would secrease ur performance a bit too much. Like it can be done, fairly easily in fact, but you'd have to have a solar panel bigger than ur car for it to do much.

one of my brother's friends is like maaad into electronics (computers, little gadgets, making stuff like that, soldering, everything...), and he thought of doing that and was like hell no, the only solar panel big enough to charge one of those 7.2-volt batteries would weigh like 1 or 2 pounds, and it would charge it really slowly.

don't you have an electric? if so, then how did u find a motor for ur car that puts out 4hp? lol i've just never seen hp ratings for electric motors, so i may just be a bit confused :?

i was looking for none rc spec motors that would work on rc cars an came across a motor that had somthing like 60k rmp and was made for torque but it sed it had 3-4 hp :\

For you guys with electric RC's, take a look into brushless motors. Damn fricken fast but they can be a bit expensive. They also requir a special speed controller.
