I just realized that there is a Breaking Car News so I believe I will start posting car news in here when I get them or are you guys content with me doing them in the car chat area?

The Kangoo Generation 2006 is to go on sale from October 2005. A benchmark in the leisure activity vehicle segment, the latest Kangoo is a clear evolution of its predecessor without losing any of the car's fun character. The model's new range features all-new body colours and finishes, as well as four new equipment packs (Famille, Enfants, Electrique and Easy). The range of Euro 4 compliant engines continues to stand out as the broadest of the segment, with a choice of two petrol engines (75hp 1.2 16V and 95hp 1.6 16V), plus three diesel options (60, 70 and 85hp 1.5 dCi ). LPG (1.2 LPG) and NGV (1.6 16V NGV) versions are also available.
A benchmark in its segment ever since its launch in October 1997, Kangoo – more than any other vehicle – epitomizes versatility, functionality and user-friendliness. Thanks to its key features (two sliding side doors, large stowage capacity, compact size, etc.), Kangoo appeals particularly to families, while its four-star Euro NCAP rating puts it at the top end of its category in terms of passive safety. In addition to its new radiator grille and clear indicator lenses which are common to all three trim levels, Kangoo Generation 2006 marks a visible step-up in range. The Authentique, Expression and Privilège trim levels are easily distinguishable by their front and rear bumpers which are either grey (Authentique), grey/body colour (Expression) or body colour/coordinated inset strips (Privilège). Further distinguishing features of the Privilège trim level are its metallic door strip engine type badge, body-coloured fuel tank flap and seats with doublenetted map pockets. The step-up in range also sees the introduction of new “Littora” (Authentique) and “Symphonia” (Privilège) wheel trims. The choice of 10 body colours for Kangoo Generation 2006 includes three new metallic colours (Giverny Green, Citrus Green, Encre Blue) in addition to the existing Sidéral Grey, Cerise Red and Intense Blue metallic colours and the non-metallic Glacier White, Vif Red, Citrus Yellow and Mousse Green colours.

The interior of Kangoo Generation 2006 has also evolved, although special care has been taken to maintain the character of the current car. Particular attention has been paid to the dashboard, already revamped in 2003, with the glovebox flap, air vents, door releases and coin-trays all matching the Nutmeg-finish dash. The LCD instrument panel houses all the electronic functions, including the trip computer (ADAC) and fuel and water temperature gauges. A selection of new upholsteries is available on the three different trim levels, while a carpeted floor mat is available on all Expression and Privilège versions. A Kangoo to suit everyone’s taste True to its reputation as a highly functional, versatile vehicle, Kangoo is available in a choice of four distinct equipment packs to enable customers to adapt their vehicle to suit their individual requirements: • “Famille” Pack: central armrest, airplane-style fold-down tables for rear passengers, child surveillance mirror and storage drawer under the passenger seat.

A broad range of engine options
To maintain its edge over its rivals, Kangoo Generation 2006 features a revised range of engines, notably on the diesel front. The power outputs of the three versions based on the 1.5 dCi diesel power plant have each been increased by 5hp, taking them to 60, 70 and 85hp, while the 75hp 1.2 16V (with manual gearbox) and 95hp 1.6 16V (manual or Proactive automatic transmission) petrol engines continue to be available. The range still features a 1.2 LPG unit which is joined by a 1.6 16V NGV (Natural Gas for Vehicles) option. All these engines are Euro 4 compliant. Kangoo: still the benchmark in the leisure activity vehicle segment Since the model’s launch in 1997, more than 1.6 million Kangoos have been produced at Renault’s Maubeuge (France), Cordoba (Argentina) and Casablanca (Morocco) factories. With total sales of 59,065 vehicles, including 25,818 in France, Kangoo was the second best-seller in the 2004 European market behind the Citroën Berlingo and ahead of the Peugeot Partner and Fiat Doblo. In the course of the first five months of 2005 (up to end May), 21,581 Kangoos were sold in Western Europe (9,310 in France) which represents a segment share of 15.4% and puts it second ahead of the Peugeot Partner, Volkswagen Caddy and Fiat Doblo.
