Just wondering, what kind of watch everyone wear around here.
Any particular or preferred brands?
I am thinking about picking up a Tag Heuer Formula 1. . . don't know too much about watches though.

I wear an old Sector. Also thinking about a Tag Heuer, the Aquaracer. Like the Breitling Blackbird but it's a little too expensive for me.

i own a sekonda, i have no idea about the brand name, but it was given to my by my grandparrents... and it looks like its worth a fair bit.
oddly enough i was also looking at a tag heuer a few months back it was one of their more ergonomic watches (didnt rip out my arm hairs)... but costed about $6000 :o i dont know why she even let me try the thing on!!... i then reached for a different one (quite similar).. no luck $3249
i dunno with watches, i mean some features your unlikely to use ie 500m depth  (apparently they lie.. according to billy connelly)
and something that size worth that much is a tad risky.. alot of people would probably mug you lol
i know the $10 casio's at K mart are my dads fav (doesnt matter if he looses it or wrecks it)
I got couple of watches but for about 2 years now I did not change this one..

Avia Polar Star 100. Its nothing special, cost about £100 but its my first proper analogue watch i was bought for my birthday some years back, so its got quite a bit of emotional attachment. I like the simple silver design, and it still looks modern to this day.
I'll put up a pic if i can find one

I wear a Festina. Just broke the glass, so it's in repair right now. Looks very similar to this:

now though my cellphone seems to be going trough a midlife crisis .
LoL.. For human you can go out and buy some nice car and it's all gone for a phone go and buy it a new phone cover and it might help.. LoL...By the way most phones go crazy after a while my advice if you like your phone and don't want to waste your money on a new one just update it's software any phone dealer does that..

Sector, because I tend to break watches and this one is quite tough (although it shows signs of needing to be replaced). The old Longines (from my father) and some others are therefore safer nicely put away.
An $80 MSRP Timex Expedition - from Walmart, $30.

Timex Iron man, Ive had it to 130' underwater and regularly take it to 100' under, up to 8000 ft elevation, beat the crap out of it and it keeps perfect time, I also have a suunto compass attached to the band. Think it cost me 40usd

You are right mobile phones do have time but I personally don't take my phone with me all the time.. Like if I am going to a certin shop and be back in the car in a while I just keep the phone in the car. The only time I take my phone with me is when I am going to the office or going in to my house.. Other than that it stays in the car.. It's one very very annoying invension in my book and a useful one too.. hehehe...

I used to wear a Seiko Kinetic Auto Relay, but the watchstrap(or whatever it's called) got broken, and I had to buy a new, original one because it has an unusual size, for about 100€, so I never bothered...
The Kinetic Auto Relay-function is really cool though.. What it does, is that it's charged by hand movement... If I don't use the watch for 6 days I believe it is, it goes to sleep, and when I move the watch next time, it automatically sets the correct time again..

I'm wearing Casio G-shock. Why ? ... Very easy, they are as solid as a rock, just keep on working, for the last ten years I haven't had a single failure. Besides an empty battery :) So they are relaible and on the whole not that expensive.
If I was a rich guy, I would go for a Breitling 8)
Cheers

Only if people are easily impressed by others possessions.. ;)
This is the whole point of laughing at the F430/Rolex/celebrity name dropping crowd.. :P
Honestly - what are people finding "impressive" about someones watch or car or teeth or silk shirt or porn-star girlfriend etc etc?
It must have something to with upbringing - are some folks raised to be impressed by possessions and place a huge value on judging anothers appearance, possessions and wealth?
I must obviously not get it ... ;)
Unless I have yet to comprehend just how shallow modern man is :D

well in fact i almost never use it, as i said just for special ocasions and i said it wrong, not neseciarilly to impress people but simply to look better, and i know its stupid but sometimes the way you look does matter. and i agree with u and not judging on appearances, i dont in fact, but unfortunatelly most people do now a days.
this only matters to me to give good first impressions. actually i dont, i dont try to impress people i was just sayin it can
and that pocket watch is cool but not 4 me, i have to much stuff in my pockets too haha.

I've always wanted a pocket watch. There's something elegant about a pocket watch, and simple at the same time. I have my share of regular watches as well.

In all honesty though, I've never worn a watch and probably never will. I don't find them comfortable and I have a cellphone that I can refer to anyways.

I've been wearing a watch for the last.....12 or so years. I can't not wear a watch either. I feel naked without one. Talk about old Seikos: My dad has had a Seiko Automatic for 15 years and has passed it on to me 5 years ago. It's still working.

Before it i used to wear those Casio G-shock thingies... But the Seiko is slightly more classy, and has never skipped a beat either. Ive thought about changing it a couple of times but there's no real reason. I still like the way it looks, and it runs perfectly. I do like Tags though, and for those extra special occasions i wear an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. Love it.

As I think the gaudy watches from people like jacob the jeweler are well, ill abstain. I just dont care for his product. Hense my choice of the indestructable Timex(That and my budget lol). But if i had piles of money and needed an elegant watch instead than this is the watch I would choose for myself.

Thats a $15k watch!
Nice :D
No watch for me... not until i can afford something special and long lasting - not a £5 casio! I can afford an expensive watch, but i really like the new Tag watch with belt drive and see through backplate, and thats a little more than i can realistically spend on a watch at this age 8)
