thanks a lot for the pics! never heard of that watercooled dyno system, nice..
Ruf is the oldest porsche tunner right? So why don't porsche choose Ruf as their official tunner? just like AMG for Mercs
But If it comes to porsche tunner, I choose Gemballa

Thanks marktak for those RUF factory pix. :D

Porsche doesn't need any tuner because it has already is own tuner, it's called: Porsche AG. If you want more horsepower, bigger brakes, stiffer suspension system, aero kit in your new Porsche or your older Porsche... You simply ask this stuff to your nearest Porsche dealer.

Gemballa is crap, It can't offer a reliable product to their consumers. I recommend rather RUF or Manthey.

I thought it was their topmodel indeed, Davide.....but when I had a closer look on the internet site in saw there were a two even better models. The RT 12 and the RT Turbo.

The Ruf RGt, which is in the picture is The latest year 2003 release from RUF Automobiles. A RUF manufactured sports version of the 996 Carrera constructed on the basis of a natural aspirated engine, that has a dry oil sump with a separate oil tank. Built at the RUF headquarters in Pfaffenhausen.

The RUF RGT with an elevated power output of 395 bhp. This normally aspirated power-plant performance is achieved through equipping motorsports based engine with four new camshafts, a performance exhaust system, air filter and a remapped engine management system.

RUF offers this motor car in either 2WD or optional 4WD. The standard body style is the 996 Coupe with a RUF design aero kit, however the 996 Cabriolet body is also an option. The RGT Coupe comes complete with the latest development of the renowned RUF Integrated Roll Cage system, which is fully trimmed and very unobtrusive.

An upgrated brake system is a part of the package; the front discs are of 350 mm diameter and equipped are with 6-piston brake calipers.

Beginning September 2004, this car is available with the RUF - Hydraulically Adjustable Suspension System.

Aerodynamic aids are also an integrated part of the RGT package, which includes a new front bumper/spoiler sill extentions, side mirrors and rear spoiler - for increased downforce.

... or 9ff! :P

I don't know a lot about the long-term reliability of cars from the small company in Dortmund of Herr Jan Fatthauer. His company is very recent 2001, but I believe that the future is very promising for 9ff. Nevertheless, I very like their products, such as the great Porsche 9ff 9f-T7 and the 9ff GT2. :D

I would take it over any of those 800hp Turbo GTR versions of the 996! :P

About the Porsche 911 2.7 Carrera RS, I dont go as far has you said Dani. I prefer a modern 996 ! But I'm a big fan of this classic car in connection with the pure Porsche tradition. :P
