Quite an old vid, but that did seem like 100+ bhp's worth of nitrous being injected by the way it was picking up, and a fucking big backfire!! lol

It was just air in the nitrous line since they didn't release it before the run it exploded. There isn't anything run with nitrous if it's a American V-8 since they love it and were built to take it, nothing wrong with cheap horsepower. :D

see now Nitrous Oxide isn't really a bad thing because if the other guy knows you're using it that's his problem not yours and some of those high shot Nitrous burners take more build up of an engine than a forced induction engine would and they take an ass load of tuning to run properly at large hp numbers.
