I had an amazing day yesterday together with dodo and TT. Not only did we saw some stunning Ferraris at the GP Strecke, we also witnessed some great machines at work at the Nordschleife.

I've edited and uploaded a selection of my pics of our NS visit. I hope you will enjoy them. The pics of the Ferrari meeting are schedule for another day ;)

Thanks Wutputt for those great NS pix. :D

I very like those Porsche (CGT,GT2,GT3Rs and the 997TT) that you photographed.

I know the Euro Viper has rear exhaust for UE emissions regulations, but I prefer the original side pipes.

Perhaps this is the new Porsche Cayenne turbo S 550hp, it goes on sale in early 2008. :hmm:

^^^
I wouldn't have a clue, cause I was not behind the wheel :D

As for the exhuast pipes on the Viper, I fully agree, those side pipes are way nicer to look, and probably it sounds better too.

About the Viper.. here in Switzerland now the side exhaust are legal and "our" SRT10 have no mods in that dept.. weird that Germany still doesn't allow them.. what about the SLR?

BTW guys, the NS experience was just special.. even more so since I managed to meet two more JW members!

We often talked about it, but I definitely think we should start planning a "real" JW meeting there for 2006!

@ dodo: nice pic, it gives a good overview of the cars that were in the parking lot.

@ yeckmohr, you sure have to come too when the next little JW meeting is held at the ring ;)

The SLR's side pipes are in front of the doors, so according to the health and safety department you can't burn your legs/feet when stepping out of the vehicle.

Thanks alot Wutputt....a very nice start to the coverage of this event! :D

Some beautiful pictures of stunning machinery.....can't wait for the Ferrari's to come. :D

We often talked about it, but I definitely think we should start planning a "real" JW meeting there for 2006!

I would consider coming to something like that - I will never see so many nice cars in Perth so I need to explore overseas eventually anyway.

It will end up being fairly expensive coming from Australia - but if I combine it with something else it would definately be worth it. :D

About the Viper.. here in Switzerland now the side exhaust are legal and "our" SRT10 have no mods in that dept.. weird that Germany still doesn't allow them.. what about the SLR?

don't forget the G55 AMG, which has sitepipes aswell

Nice pictures wutputt !!!

Great to hear that you had a blast there :D You guys were fortuned to see that many camouflaged cars out there, I have never been that lucky until now :) It's just great, everytime you visit it it's just completely different. I remember being there once during a weekend when there was a Bentley meeting, lots of Bentley owners were invited and they got the opportunity to have a passenger lap in an Arnage with one of the test drivers I guess. The circuit was quite wet, well I can say that the Ring taxi wasn't the only car taking every bend with oversteer 8) . You always see something crazy, brand new and hot. Having a meet and greet there with the board is a wonderful idea!

I can see where you guys made those pictures :) Interesting spots like Brunnchen and Pflanzgarten but most of the time very crowded. You have to park your car at Brunnchen if you want to go to the Karrousel
I prefer to hang around at the inside of the circuit. When having dinner, that petrol station (Dottinger hohe, where you snapped the new Jag XK) is superb place, lots of those beasts are very thirsty and will visit it almost regularly. The best thing you can do for visiting more than two or even three hot spots a day is bringing a bike with you.

Thanks for the pics, if you ever go again and need a guide, just send me a mail and hopefully we can work something out then.

Cheers

Thanks for the info. Idd a bike or if you want to be a bit faster an offroad motorbike or scooter would be very nice. Definitely the fastest way to go around the track (literally around the track of course ;)) and see some good spots.

Thanks for the comments about my pics. Next weekend I'll be at the ring again with a big group of friends, just to have some fun. But when I go again after this one, I will gladly accept your offer as a guide ;)

No problemo :) Like I have said before, if everything goes by plan when it comes to receiving the new glasswork I will be there next weekend (13 or 14 august) I always arrive early and this time I will leave quite late. So, fingers crossed this time, because I definitely want to snap a flying CGT and shoot some spy shots. Like Toronto has said before; sending them to a car mag like Car, Evo or Top Gear would be fantastic, the only thing I ask them is, if a picture of mine goes into print, that they will send me a copy of their mag. That's it but I won't hesitate if I can make some money out of it although that I guess it will be quite difficult because they have their staff photographers, but on the other hand they are not always on the right place on the right spot. There is always a chance.

Take care mate

Cheers

Good idea, maybe I should.

@ c0wb0y007: have they printed some of your spy pics in the past?

No, I have never had the luck to see and eventualy photograph one. I have seen some tuners and even other car manufacturers at the Ring testing their cars but those weren't camouflaged ones. There is roadster called "Yes" which is a two seater, the whole car is made with Audi parts. I have seen two or three out there, it's quite nice car to be honest.
One day it will turn out fine for me :D
The only camouflaged cars I have seen there was on the public roads and I was behind the steering wheel myself so wasn't able to make a few shots and back then I didn't have my DSLR yet.

So we were pretty lucky so see them. Nice :D
Taking pics without compromising safety while driving isn't always that easy. IMO a little compact camera put in auto mode is better suited for snaping some cars while driving instead of a heavy DSLR.

@ Wutputt

Indeed, you guys were quite fortunate to see such nice camouflaged cars :D We should get a hand on the calender with all the industry test dates on it 8)

I do have a compact camera as well, but wasn't able to operate it, everything went quite fast. It was a new alfa romeo I think, must have been 3 years ago. Nothing really spectacular
