"If Ferrari are the sixth best team next year I have no reason to move apart from a nice company car. That's not really enough, is it?

Like people who speak their mind!!! Sorry ferrari F1 fans but this really made me laugh when i read it! Love to see him move to a succesful Ferrari team :D

Yeah but it takes a strong man to resist the lure of racing for Ferrari. Ask Jean Alesi who turned down Williams and a certain shot at the championship for misery at Ferrari

I think Button is saying this to beef up his value for next year.

But then it might an almighty swap ...

Ferrari gets Button in exhange for Barrichello. Someone to hold the 2nd driver position till Kimi or Alonso is available. :P

Honda gives Williams engines in exchange for Button.

Gil de Ferran is great friends with Rubinho. I guess Rubens might like being number 1 and the change might be good for him like the change rejuvenated DC.

and that comment about only wanting to go to a team that can win isnt good, so basically if the team has a good few races and then starts to fall apart he wont be motivated enough to try hard every race. makes me wonder how hard is he really trying now for BAR. personally, i wouldnt want someone with an attitude like that on my team, you need someone that has the winning attitude 24/7 not only when things are going good.

He does have a winning attitude, he wants to be with a winning team. Basically what he has said to BAR is show me some iprovement and i'm yours. Honestly i can't see him going to Williams, they are unlikely to be a force next year IMO. Ferrari, well i doubt with their budget and team they will have another season like this, so i could see that move happen. Really BAR are a good team and i agree i can see them having a world champion, but drivers take risks and if he has the opportunity going to ferrari may just pay off. Personally i'd want to wait for schumi to retire, but then he could never have the opportunity again!

i dont know if wanting to go to a winning team is a winning attitude, its more like wanting to take the easy ride to a championship. most drivers would want to go to a winning team, and there are plenty of drivers that would love to be in the seat of a BAR car, which has great potential. seems like he wants a title given to him and doesnt want to work for it, and that to me isnt really a winning attitude.

well he has to think about the performance this year, and the ambition of the team, money and personel wise, we're not inside the team so we don;t know all the facts. Ultimately i think he'll stay next year, purely because of the schumi factor

we arent inside the team, but they have good pace and with improvements they can only get better. but then again anything could happen, i just think he should stick with BAR and he wont be dissapointed.

Indeed, just look at ferrari this year, nobody expected them to be this far off the pace this year.

and with the way BMW is doing i guess he should stay with BAR, i think BAR will win a title sooner or later

It's not BMW's fault that thier engines outperform the Williams chassis :? I think last year REALLY proved that *cough*walrus*cough*. and this year is no different. Since the Williams wind tunnel was miscalibrated or some shit like that just before the season, they discovered everything they had been doing to make the car better was actually making it worse. they lost well over a month because of that, and that was right before Australia.

I give BMW one more year of mid-pack racing for them to dial in the newly accquired chassis, and then watch out front runners :P

he is absolutely correct, a loosing ferrari team is after all still a loosing team, for drivers it is so hard to make it into F1 and to stay in F1 that the best way to assure yourself longevity is to be on a winning/top team, it also helps to be on a top team if you have title aspirations and if you are not as skilled a driver as alonso or kimi, JB needs a little help to compete against them directly, and who knows, by going to a more competitive team he may be able to challenge them for the championship
