Here r the sad pictures of my totalled porsche, i had an accident on wednesday, the day after the night i went out to take more pics of my car for jabbasworld as requested, i had an unfortunate accicedent with a dumbass who didn't bother to see if there's another car on the road or not, it was 100% his fault. here r the pictures and there's a drawing describing how the accident happen

http://img91.imageshack.us/img91/7882/10315128zp.th.jpg (http://img91.imageshack.us/my.php?image=10315128zp.jpg)

http://img296.imageshack.us/img296/2337/10315204ub.th.jpg (http://img296.imageshack.us/my.php?image=10315204ub.jpg)
http://img296.imageshack.us/img296/6384/10315258du.th.jpg (http://img296.imageshack.us/my.php?image=10315258du.jpg)
http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/875/10315239rd.th.jpg (http://img130.imageshack.us/my.php?image=10315239rd.jpg)
http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/3108/10314901ea.th.jpg (http://img175.imageshack.us/my.php?image=10314901ea.jpg)

here's the drawing i did to describe how the accident happen, he was trying to take a U-turn from the the road on the right to the road on my left but he didn't pay attention to what if there's another car coming down the road or not, but what fooled me is that he stopped there for a second then he surprised me by accelerating from the point where he was to the middle of the road i was on and leaving me no space to avoid him, so i hit the brakes but i knew it was too late coz i was too close so i decided to hit the back of his car instead the front coz of the chance of killing him then the car got out of my hands and i lost control after the air bags came out and it hit the lamp post and flipped once or twice ( i don't know coz i didn't feel it ) then i looked at my friend who was in the passenger seat not wearing a seat belt
:| and i saw that he was ok and there was nothing wrong with him so i got out of the car (out of the window ofcourse) and i was okay too, only glass scratches and a couple of light bruises that aren't worth mentioning

http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/3619/accident5dr.th.jpg (http://img130.imageshack.us/my.php?image=accident5dr.jpg)

now that is a really strong car, they don't care if it gets totalled easily but they don't want anything to happen to the passengers, but what surpised me is that the side air bag on my side didn't open. :|
Comments are welcomed

Here are the pics i took the night b4 as promised

That's really bad news, na2o.

It makes me angry some total dumbasses are driving around on the roads, just not paying attention to the cars/traffic around them.

Good to hear you and your passenger are ok. I just hope he or you don't have any long term injuries.

What happened to the fuck causing the accident? And will you get paid a new car?

Hate to be insensitive at the time like this but custom pic pls? :)

Try searching there are custom pics.

How fast were you going?

was it too much to try and spin the car to a stop, I've seen that done and it seems to work. It really sucks that the car is fucked beyond repair, so are you going to upgrade now? You should take the engine from it and put it in a mini or a go-kart

"Young kids with expensive cars... Any questions?"

this is the stupidest comment i have heard yet in this thread

so what he has a expensive car. so what if he didnt pay for it. He didnt cause the accident. He was the victim.

i myself have owned many "expensive cars" and the same goes for most of my friends. we have yet to do something "stupid" and total them, or not take car of them, or be undeserving of what we are very fortunate to have, and are very thankful for our good fortune. the fact that he is a member here obviously shows his enthusiasm for his vehicle, as well as his familys (his father reccommended another porsche) so i say more power to him, i wish we were all as fortunate.

i would ask that you refrain from "generalized" and "envious" comments like this. this makes it seem like you are a asshole, and your really not. your statement makes it sound like hes just some pompous jackass richkid when the guy seems to be very nice.

"I paid for my car, and I didnt wreck it.. No words needed."

who pays for the car has absolutey no effect on it being wrecked. it would have happened if he was in a 500 dollar car. once agian, this is a stupid comment. you could very well be going to work tommorow and have someone do the same thing to you, but none of us would make a asshole comment about the misfortune of a car wreck.

those post are just another example of people who cannot accept the fact some people have better fortune in life then others, and when it presents itself, they have to "attack" that person. its really quite lame.

graywolf624

It has nothing to do with envious or dont like people more fortunate.

First, the kids experience contributed. He clearly saw the person stop in the middle of the U turn. Defensive driving teaches that you should slow down when you see a situation like this ahead. (was it his fault, no.. But experience would make him handle the situation better. Until he has that experience parents shouldnt provide him with a high hp car).

Second, it has nothing to do with envious.. Im not envious.. I couldnt care if I had a billion dollars, no kid should have a car like that before 20.. and they should pay for their first car to learn the value of the dollar.. Its nothing to do with whether hes a nice guy and everything to do with what I feel is the wrong way to raise a kid.. Im entitled to feel that way..

I'm also entitled to say it.. Period.. It isnt an attack.. It isnt jealousy.. Its the fact that I whole heartedly disagree with the action of his parents.. Perhaps I should have kept my mouth shut, but as you recall Ive said the same thing before in other threads where young people claimed they owned ultra expensive high hp cars.

edit: Brembo, if it were really jealousy Id be a liberal or be jealous of your cars or Jabbas or something.. Im not.

You know, that's a lot of parenting advice from a guy who's 24. I wonder how na2o's parents would feel to know that they are being criticised by some 24 year old punk from the US. They are entitled to buy their kid whatever they want to, and you have no right to pass judgement. It was also clearly the other person's fault in this case, so age or car make has no bearing

basically u are saying.... when u see someone on teh street that look young and maybe under the age of 20 that drive a pretty quick car, u are thinking.. mother fuckers.. u dont deserve or able to drive that sucker? whos says that when ur parent buy u a car, u dont value the money??? yes... alot of kids are spoiled and dont value money,, but not all

I am a parent first off..
I also have a right to make a comment on my personal beliefs as much as anyone else. Entitled and what I think of them are two seperate things.. There parents will buy them what they want and it isnt my right to stop them, but I can voice my beliefs with respect to it.
But I guess everyone here thinks I shouldnt have a right to state this belief.. So whatever.. Backoff and quit with the personal attacks.

whos says that when ur parent buy u a car, u dont value the money??? yes... alot of kids are spoiled and dont value money,, but not all
Actually no.. Im saying driving ability is gained with experience period. A 16-20 year old doesnt have the driving experience to have the ability necessary to handle it unless maybe hes been racing cars his entire life... Considering how rare it is, I sincerely doubt it. The majority of accidents occur in first 5 years...

"I also have a right to make a comment on my personal beliefs as much as anyone else."

then you should at least do it in a non degrading, none hateful and assuming nature like most of us, and maybe think about making your comments a little less confrontational and a little more sympathetic towards the fact the kid was in a pretty bad accident and walked away unscathed.

this is an assumption made on "statistical" data taken from a very small percentage of the population. Given the fact most people from families are enthusiast familys get quite a bit better teaching, and aquire alot more experience then most people. Having a father who raced cars/built cars/and drove them to the limit, i had prolly the best driver instruction someone could ask for, and it started very very early (since i was 10 or 11) and i have yet to have a accident of any variety being my fault.

"Its the fact that I whole heartedly disagree with the action of his parents"

so your saying if when you kid was old enough to drive, and had the maturity and the respect, and ability to handle a car like a porsche (and you had the financial means) you would not give your child what you thought was best or what he/she deserved? i know a ton of kids who got pretty high end cars from their parents for first cars (audi S4, VR4 3000gt, porsche boxsters, s2000, etc etc) and they did just fine with them. you cannot condem someone based on a "statistic"

anyhows enough of this,

Sorry if any one took it that way, but remember the Internet doesnt convey statements that well.. In fact my second comment, the one you hinged on about accidents was me trying to kid a bit in response to his envious comment. I feel sorry for the youngin, but I also have my opinions.

Nope, my daughter/son will get the same thing I got.. I will be a millionare and he/she will drive some sort of old 4 door sedan.. Maybe a volvo for extra safety. Ill be sure to help them financially in other ways, but to me the car is the one area where the limits are the limits regardless of what I can provide. That being said my child will be through a course on a track around the time of license obtain too so they know car control. I kind of feel this level of training should be mandatory. So in respect to your story, I consider that level the baseline and the ones with less should probably drive a carolla for a lot longer.

Its not just based on statistics. I remember even as someone who was on the race track before he had his license, I made some stupid mistakes when I first got on the road based on over estimation of the other idiots on the road.

Back on topic.

Sucks - but a quite avoidable accident - hopefully you learn from this :)

Passing a car pointing into your road at 60mph is the first mistake. One you only make once ;) -- you always assume any car that may dash in front of you will, and thus cover the brake and slow when approaching any such vehicle - and you should already have your escape route planned and be ready for the car to pull out in front of you.

A lesson I have carried with me from my first such accident on an Yamaha RZ350YPVS when I was just a wee 18 year old lad. ;)

And how could gray be anything but #1 debater. I am #1 potty mouth and verbal diarrhetic.. :P

And everyone jumping on gray for his comment - if he was ealous, what was every one elses motivaiton? Bortherly love or sucking up or mob mentality?

One "hey gray you sounded xxx" comment would have been enough - but then everyone has to pile on? *shrug*

As an example - I had a crash myself(as I beleave many of us) looked not that bad but close, I had tram waked in my doors too, and I wasnt driving my car, it was family car, like it could be his family car cause they probably can afford more "family cars" I was young and dumb at that time(about 19) and learned a big lesson, it was my fault 100%, and thanx god nothing happend to me, from that moment I drive WAY more safe not like before racing on the normal streets

Let me turn it around a little bit, say you're a succesfull manager of some mayor ass company and make a couple of millions a year. Your kid gets it's license, you drive a nice car or 5, you wife does and would you then let your kid drive some beaten wreck? Or some cheap ass thing?
Nah, you couldn't, people would talk bad about you. That you and your wife get all the nice things and that your children don't even get a decent car...
Only a posuer cares about what people think.. Screw that.. I care about my kids far more and I hate that shit. After living with my former fiances parents who believe what people thought was more important then safety, theres no chance in hell that would ever weigh on my decision in anything. You should live your own life, not the one someone else wants you to live.

edit- Your pulling at an old wound, bad topic, so just take what I told you at face value and move on.

It's only a small percentage that doens't have the brains to drive a car like that, and they make the news. Those that drive carefully don't make the news...
Speed and brains have nothing to do with ability in driving. Experience with accident avoidance, defensive driving, ect are what effect it.
Speed doesnt kill... While Im the first to yell about racing on public roads being stupid, its not the only thing you need to learn to be a good driver. Acceleration and rapid response to inputs are not good things in the hands of an inexperienced driver.

Sad to hear about your loss, glad you and your friends are safe.

Gray- there are always people who will drive better then you or me and they can be 16. You avoid accidents buy using common sense, by not panacking and knowing the limits of your cars turning ability, brakes etc. You can never ever know what kind of accident you will get into. So you cant practice it. You just have to think, and think fast. If you need to go to some driving school to learn how to avoid basic accidents then you a really dumb sorry. These things should come naturaly.

Most of driving education should be done before you even sit in a car.

OK. Forget wealth, age, attitude, station in life, gray, brembo or your current country of residence.

It's just you, me and your totally fucked up Porsche. :)

This type of accident - is the most avoidable type of crossing accident.
You just won't admit it :)

If you didn't learn a lesson then shame on you. Every incident is worth learning from. You say you "slowed down" yet you hit him at 60mph. If you saw the car on the side, and had anticipated that he probably would shoot infront of you and then stop or do something else just as stupid you would have already had the brake covered and slowed a little more and been ready to amnouvre right. Plan an escape route for every situation as it unfolds - a lesson taught to me so long ago I can't even remember by whom..

But what we have here is a perfect example of the "I don't need to learn anything more because I know it all and you can tell me nothing" 20 year old syndrome.. ;)

No worries - we all go though it - fuck up a bunch of cars, bikes etc - and then eventually one day "we get it"... that criticisms/advice/observations from those who have "been there done that" is just that.

How can you be sure T-Boning him at 60mph would not have flipped your car anyway ;)

Hopefully next time you can avoid the entire incident and just be "more" aware of the surrondings. Cover the brakes, slow down a little, select a lower gear or 2 - be ready to either accelerate away or brake and swerve and then accelerate again.

When driving with others they always ask why are you so cautious, you always slow a little, select geras lower - your head is always darting around - I just remond them I spent so many years sport bike riding in traffic that you learn to become paranoid or you die. ;)

Anyhow, I think most of us just care that you as a JW memebr and sports car driver don't hurt yourslef or your ride to much :)

We love you man... ;)

Enjoy what ever your next car is.

p.s. brembo - I wasn't singling you out with the mob-mentality comment.. ;)

I hope this topic won't go out of hand! As others, I think experience and practice can play a role, but still, there are drivers with 20 years of license behind their shoulders which are still shit, while others are far better than this at 18.

Nobody knows n2o in person, so it's just useless to assume he is a spoiled young gun with a heavy foot and unable to control a car.

let's stop this slightly OT discussion here please ;)

Well - technically, one of our beloved JW members cars is smashed to bits... so how is discussing auto accidents or techiques to avoid them, off topic? ;) heheh

And dont play the personal attack card on this one Gray, cuz we only state our opinions too, and we think it was uncalled for to make those comments.....

Is phazo or is not phazos comment that Im some punk kid from USA not a personal attack. Thats not an oppinion or a comment, and thats who it was directed at.

damn man at least get the name right

It wasn't a personal attack and i'm sorry if you took it as such. I was just saying how his parents might feel...i certainly don't think of you as a "punk"

i was just a little steamed, as it seemed to me that your first post was a little "vicious" and directed at someone who just lost a great car...

didn't mean to attack you or anything...sorry

Yeah it's the E90, i found a great color, black with white interior that looked really great. I might get it in the next 2 months or so

TT
07-10-2005, 06:12 PM
Ewww, white interior is a bitch! I hope you don't wear jeans very often because with time, they stains the seats!

But the car is cool and I think today I'd rather have a 330i (E90) rather than an M3 (E46)

Okay, first he tells us the story of his wrecked 996, then there's a huge OT with censorship and now you're saying that na2o will have a gay interior, don't you think it's enough ?

TT
07-10-2005, 06:38 PM
LOL no, not gay interior, just a pain in the ass to keep it clean! I always dreamt about white leather interiors (I suppose it is leather the one he saw) but I know jeans can stain quite easily.. that said, I didn't wear jeans in the last 5 or 6 years probably, so I am making little sense :D

This thread has gone crazy! I had something I wanted to say about fast cars and young people like me..but I will refrain from it so that I too am not *censored* hehe. Na20, I am sorry to hear about your misfortune but I have to agree with RC45 that even tho the accident is not your fault, when driving any car (especially a sports car) in traffic, you must be extremely aware of your surroundings!
Anyways, glad to hear everyone is ok. What other cars does your family have? I hope you will have a good replacement car in the mean time until you decide to buy a new one... Whats ur thoughts on a new 997 Carrera S 8) Much better than a 330i IMHO!!! hehe keep us posted dude!
