Ford GT will be sold in Canada

2005 Ford GT

Toronto, Ontario - Ford of Canada has announced that the GT supercar will be available for the first time in Canada. Race fans will have an opportunity to see the 550 hp GT in action at the Canadian Champ Car World Series race in Toronto July 10, Edmonton July 17 and Montreal August 28.

Ford will offer 200 limited-production Canadian cars during the 2006 model year. They will be customized to Canadian standards by automotive supplier Multimatic Inc. of Markham, Ontario.

The GT's 5.4-litre, all-aluminum engine is based on the largest V8 in Ford's modular engine family, and makes 550 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque. Prices have not been announced but a company spokesperson said it is expected the GT will retail for under $200,000.

umm looks like they might be making the same mistake they did with the UK versions and letting an outside company do the modifications to them they should have made them all to different spec at Saleen/SVT then shipped them out then maybe JC would still have his.
